Holy shit, that practically reads like some satirical Twitter account.
I wish it was.
Where are all the pastors who said they were gonna light themselves on fire if this happened?
By relation its legal in Puerto Rico as well. I am incredibly happy by this.
Lol "Cheer up bigots you still have chic fil a"

literally what will happen in India if gay marriage gets legalized. Bunch of people have already lined up to threaten that.

Obama speech about this.
Pretty badass that we've managed to go from "don't ask don't tell" to country-wide legalization in about 5 years.
Hillary Clinton is just jumping on the bandwagon, she was anti gay in the 2000s
It's like peoples opinions can Change or something. Only a few years ago the majority of states had a constitutional ban on gay marriage. Look where we are now
the idea that someone like rand paul may get elected and undo this thing that is wonderful for many, many people really bums me out
Dude. On my gay best friend's birthday nonetheless. Holy shit he's going to be so happy!
the idea that someone like rand paul may get elected and undo this thing that is wonderful for many, many people really bums me out
There would be riots.
I'm not even joking, there would be country-wide riots.
the idea that someone like rand paul may get elected and undo this thing that is wonderful for many, many people really bums me out
Rand Paul wouldn't be nearly the worst about this.
That being said, I'm not for eliminating contracts between adults. I think there are ways to make the tax code more neutral, so it doesn't mention marriage. Then we don't have to redefine what marriage is; we just don't have marriage in the tax code.
He would probably do away with government-sponsored marriage in general.
the idea that someone like rand paul may get elected and undo this thing that is wonderful for many, many people really bums me out
No one can undo it without amending the constitution

Cheer up
Rand Paul will never get elected.
Jesus fuck, be glad you're not FB friends with half of Southern Arkansas right now
Explicitly:
Rand Paul does not endorse same-sex marriage, but he supports marriage contracts for same-sex couples.
damn i did not expect this. but its awesome

That is splitting hairs on an almost impressive level.
"I'm not a bigot I just believe in something equal to marriage but entirely separate from marriage. We'll call it a marriage CONTRACT."

"I'm not a bigot I just believe in something equal to marriage but entirely separate from marriage. We'll call it a marriage CONTRACT."
I don't see what's wrong with that. Basically the religious institution of marriage should have no bearing on what the government does, but people are freely allowed to enter contracts with each other, and there's no reason the government should discriminate on that level. It's like a civil union.
"You churches can marry or not marry whoever the fuck you want, it has nothing to do with us. Meanwhile, if people want to be legally joined in some way, there's no reason the government should discriminate based on gender." It's definitely a very libertarian viewpoint.

I really dislike the fact Obama is being portrayed as some gay rights hero. He rode the fence as long as he could on the issue and even when he did come.out in support it was in a very tepid way. Its a great day regardless
love wins, mah niggas

I saw someone else on here say that the likely reason Obama has been keeping it cool is because he doesn't want to be the first black president to do this and that because it'll fuel some already very hot fires.

rather whatever gives them the vote
Interesting fact: The rainbow flag celebrated its anniversary yesterday. First flown June 25, 1978 at the SF gay pride parade.
The 2010s are going to be remembered as the gay rights decade
