• Wikileaks: Julian Assange to be questioned by British police

Even if Wikileaks it self just disappeared, people will always want to get info out there. I have always held the belief that if Wikileaks wasn't around these leaks (the video, the diaries etc) would have made it out into the public domain via the older methods of leaking stuff (newspapers).
Yes lets execute the person who is doing nothing more than publishing information they are given. If anyone should be executed (and I do not think anyone should, this isn't murder) it should be the person/people who have leaked the info. Assange/Wikileaks have done nothing more than many media outlets have done over the years.
The gentleman who leaked the information is in solitary confinement.
The latest facilities list isn't going to kill anyone.
Yet. As far as people are concerned, you might be right. But the fact remains that this is a diplomatic nightmare, and that's the biggest problem here. See my original post here (#12).
The gentleman who leaked the information is in solitary confinement.
Allegedly leaked. But that should be the end of it, if its proven he was the leak he should be tried for the crime he has committed. There were talks of the US planning to change laws to arrest Assange, this is crazy you cannot make something someone has legally done illegal because you do not like what happened.
If what his lawyer has been saying over the past week is true, he has been wanting to talk with the Swedish police since August and they have been ignoring him. I suspect if this is true he will talk to the British police in the same way he has apparently been trying to talk to the Swedish police, to clear his name I assume.
Except that he won't go to Sweden to talk to the police, and doing it by a video conference is not something that the prosecutors want.

man if i were him I would go into hiding. a lot of people dont like him and I would be scared for my life
man if i were him I would go into hiding. a lot of people dont like him and I would be scared for my life
He IS in hiding. Although apparently the British and Swedish police know exactly where he is, and have done for some time.
What a great way to live a life.
better to live a shitty life then no life
A diplomatic nightmare is good. True allies will remain allies, any sketchy or corrupt allegiances will break.
While that makes for simple and easy to understand logic, how, exactly, is this to be substantiated in reality given that these documents pertain to plenty of unfriendly nations (not to mention, competing nations- which would be every other one out there lol) as well? Foremost: Iran, North Korea, Syria, Pakistan, China, India...?
A diplomatic nightmare is good. True allies will remain allies, any sketchy or corrupt allegiances will break.
1914 was a year of diplomatic nightmares. I don't think it turned out so good.
I suppose one of the few perks about this whole incident is that security will no doubt be improved for the future. If that consolidates anything.
