Microsoft has already stated that the 360 is half-way through it's cycle and the next one will most likely be released in 2015.

Most likely they will show it off in E3 2014 then.
A few years ago, yes, the people bitching were mainly just graphics masturbating "Gamers".
But now, it goes beyond that.
Look at Battlefield 3. Consoles are literally too weak to handle the full potential of the game. The weakness of consoles now isn't just limiting the graphics of games, it's limiting the gameplay potential now.
To put it simply, consoles have failed to keep pace with the industry.
It's mostly the 360, isn't it? I thought the PS3 actually had some decent hardware.

lol, yeah right. just like the ps3 is a 10yr console, therefore it ps4 won't see the light of day till 2018
I honestly feel like they're still unlocking the 360's true potential as a multimedia machine though.
PS3 feels like it just hit a brick wall and is never going to recover. All sony can do is learn from the mistakes they made. Wii was pretty strong from the get go and never really had any issues.
What the fuck are you talking about.
I don't want the new Xbox to come out, All of them Digital Downloads man.
What prevents you from keeping your current Xbox somewhere so you still have your digital downloads ?
I don't want the new Xbox to come out, All of them Digital Downloads man.
so true! you cant take over a game to your friends or anything that's really going to suck!

Take your xbox to your friends house!
It's mostly the 360, isn't it? I thought the PS3 actually had some decent hardware.
Well yes that is true, but most console devs develop for 360 and ignore all the potential and power of the PS3 and PC.
If you wanted me to nail down which specific console is holding back gaming and is behind the times, it's the Xbox.
Since when did graphics matter so much for games?
Since when did graphics matter so much for games?
When a console is more than a decade behind in hardware.
PS3 FOH LIFE
Isn't the XBox the oldest console on the market right now? (apart from PS2)

Are we talking hardware wise or age wise
If it functions like Steam where you would purchase, download, and install games off of a marketplace, then it could work fine.
Gamesaves could be stored on a cloud that was linked to your account information, so if you wanted to bring a game to a friend's place you'd just use a USB flash drive to store a compressed version of the game or its installer and then log into your account from wherever you go to start where you left off.
If it had built-in wifi and free access to the marketplace then I see no issue with it. The only major issue would be that you pretty much couldn't play anything without Internet access of some kind.
Since when did graphics matter so much for games?
Graphics aren't the most important part, we're actually reaching the point where developers need to make sacrifices to the game itself so that it can run on a console. Battlefield 3 for console has smaller maps, supports less players, and runs at only 30 FPS but still can't support the same graphics that many PCs can
In other words, Battlefield 3 on consoles is actually not only graphically inferior, but now you can't even play the game as it was intended because consoles can't handle it
Are we talking hardware wise or age wise
Either way his statement is incorrect because the Wii is older in both.
Oh wait, it appears I was mistaken. The xbox360 is actually a year older than the wii.
Are we talking hardware wise or age wise
The Wii is the weakest hardware wise, but the 360 came out a year before the Wii and PS3 so its been around the longest(of the current gen)

Okay, thanks. Been around the longest was what I meant to ask.
I knew the Wii was the weakest because Nintendo's never really been big on powerful hardware.

The Wii was more targeted at being affordable and easy to use. it was more aimed at casuals, and they decided to throw out HD graphics to achieve that and their innovative (at the time) motion control gaming
Probably alittle bit harder to manage, perhaps you will be able to take a game over to a friends house digitally. Similar to transferring an Xbox Live account maybe.
Take your xbox to your friends house!
What about taking it to your friend's house who doesn't have internet? What then? What about your friend who has terrible internet and you want to play games all night but you can't because you have to download your copy every time you go somewhere?
The truth of the matter is that the idea is stupid and that they should stick primarily to discs for consoles. Downloading an xbox live account is one thing, downloading a whole game, is a hassle.
They're making halo 4 for the 360?
God damn it.
Take your xbox to your friends house!
That's the prime reason why I love the Slim 360, because I can fit all of everything in my bag
Also for those who are saying that Microsoft and Sony are saying their consoles are meant to last 10 years so we wont't see another console until 2016 - 2018. You have to keep in mind that they also said the two consoles are going to overlap... So a the new xbox could come out in 2014-2015 and overlap with the Xbox 360 for 2 or 3 years before they stop support on the 360.

Longer than that I suspect, the fucking PS2 still has official support, and games are still being made for it
that just baffles me
They really need to hurry up with the nextbox, so console gamers can at least run games in 1080p instead of whatever weird upscaled resolutions the games are running at.
