English Mastiffs, but they are huge.
this should be renamed as niandra's thread

Apparently they want to do an event for Christmas, there is hope
I will go to pug fest
I will pet the pug!!
Poor things could do with a bit of tinkering to fix those breathing problems. A little dogmentation could go a long way.

Dawgmentation? Dogmentation sounds like documentation to me. Like a manual on how to configure your pug.
Well reconfiguring their sinuses and the backs of their throats, along with giving them a better nose-bone, would be suitable augmentation for those little guys.
which is uglier, I am really really really not sure
Has science gone to far?

I hope they had a screening of this at the event
I remember going in a pet shop when i was a child, and this pug stared at me like if he was trying to say "Please let me come with you :C". Hell, he continued to stare at me even outside of the shop, i felt so sad that i couldn't (and still can't) own a dog
When is chavfest

I can't help but stare at these kids' hairlines. They're going to be bald by age 25. Yes I'm a terrible person.

I'm sorry but this is just adorable, look how regal (s)he looks.
Holy shit the comments in that video.

That comment's so edgy I'll use it to cut my steak tonight.
I own a pug and a bulldog. Pugs do tend to have some breathing problems, but not "choke to death in their sleep," bad. Mostly just snorting. It's like having my own little house pig.
I always wanted a pug. They are fucking adorable.
It is sad that pure-breeds have so many issues. I have a pure bred dachshund who is epileptic and is almost certain to develop back problems.
But fuck me sideways if he isn't the cutest thing ever.
i have never noticed any physical problems with my lhaso apso other than being a total idiot compared to my cairn terrier/westie
but purebreeding is bad. some of the breeders also make it worse; being pug is suffering
Poor little animals. Centuries of inbreeding to turn a beautiful wolf into a rabbit sized thing with bug eyes that can pop out just from wearing a too tight leash and a collapsed face that results in most having serious breathing problems.
Just so people can have "cute" pets.

I personally thought it looked really fucking fed up :v:

So you could relate then?
So you could relate then?
If I'm relating to anything its the wolf lol
Would be pretty unhappy if my descendants were that messed up.
Edit: just read back through the thread, you own pugs...
Jesus Christ, don't ever let them breed.

Just because Pugs are inbred mutants aren't going to stop me from loving them.

Wow, that looks surprisingly similar to the Queen of England.

Also the cuteness in the thread is too damn high, fuck y'all who think pugs are ugly.
Fuck ya'll hatin on pugs. My two pugs are cool as shit and only one of them really snores loudly.

we don't hate pugs, we hate people who breed them horribly
Pugs need to stop being bred, they're adorable but goddamn the controlled breading has really given them huge health problems, which everyone just dismisses because they're cute.
Out of mere curiosity since I have no personal interest in getting a pug, what other type of dog would you think would be the best to breed a pug with to help fix its respiratory issues while still having it look much like a pug? I just like to entertain the thought of how to eat the cookie and have it too for people who like the idea of owing a pug.
I've always liked the concept of playing god. Scientific articles about cloning or gene manipulation fascinates the hell out of me and the idea of creating cool new genetic mutations just exciting. I don't think I could ever do it myself though or even be selective enough about dog breeding to purposely create an intended mutation, because if I looked down on my creation and it looked back up at me with sad eyes I don't think I could live with myself.
Hearing a Pug breathe is really discomforting.
like thats not normal in the slightest, how are people okay with this?

Pugs/beagle mixes look like long eared pugs.

This is what you get by mixing a Chihuahua with a pug
