Failure is the main ingredient for success, they will rise back up and stronger, a new era is coming for Nintendo. Judging from the article, I can already see Mario on a smartphone. Anyway Hyrule warriors looks great.
Am i the only one here thinking we need another Metroid Prime?
What the need to do is create an new IP I'm actually interested in. All the titles Nintendo have made are cartoony and kiddish, they just aren't for me. Never liked the Pokemon, Mario, or Super Smash Brothers shit they keep pumping out.
If your looking over a game because it has a different art style to what you expect and judge its gameplay from that, that says alot about what sort of games you play.
Anyway Hyrule warriors looks great.
This is the first time I'm hearing about this, and so far after watching the trailer, I don't like it. It would be better if they kept the same gameplay as other 3d zeldas, but make it have a more dark, mature storyline.

And it's not part of the actual Zelda universe, iirc. It's a spinoff game.
Star Fox and F-Zero don't sell.
What do you consider to be good numbers in sales? Because all console based Starfox games have sold at least over 1 million copies. Adventures (A game that wasn't supposed to be Starfox) even outsold Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2, Metroid Prime 2, Kirby Air Ride, and Pokemon XD. Nintendo games don't even have that big of a budget compared to the likes of Square-Enix with Tomb Raider and Rockstar with GTA V. (This goes for Mario and Zelda)
It isn't a 2D sidescrolling Mario game either. So what is then hm?
Unless there's some layer mechanic of sorts that lets you change depth in the level (Kirby's Magic Yarn had such a mechanic,) then the gameplay takes place in 2D space (i.e. up & down, left & right but NOT forward and back,) despite being rendered with 3D graphics.

Fairly sure Miyamoto has said that the 3D Land/World games can be considered their own series, separate from the 2D Mario games and the open-world Maro 64/Sunshine/Galaxy games (the likes of which may still appear on the Wii U). So there.
Makes sense. Neither of the games really match up with any of the others ones. It's kind of a blend of the two.
Another bomb by nintendo... (P.S. Could change my name with my account???)
All the titles Nintendo have made are cartoony and kiddish, they just aren't for me.
Well it's good that you're catered to by, oh everything else in the video game industry

So wait, what are hardcore games exactly? All that Call of Duty/Battlefield with 12-year olds screaming, arguing, and shooting guns is hardcore? I thought stupidly hard games were hardcore like Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels.

Personally I believe it's their arrogance, ignorance of customers opinions and archaic online structure that's led to this. Shame, because no one makes game like Nintendo, and it's a shame to see them in a position like this, but you can't help but think it's their fault...
Personally I'd like to see some better Nintendo franchise titles. they've just been remaking the same Mario games for a while and I want to see something that tries something as unique as sunshine. the Zelda games need some graphical gimmick like in windwaker, and not just trying to reuse the twilight princess graphics, Nintendo needs to buy rare back for a good banjo sequel for the Wii U. They're going too much with hardware gimmicks and need to go back to software-oriented marketing

It doesn't help that in one of the few commercials I've seen they fail to address the issue that people think it's an add-on. It's just called an "upgrade" in the commercial.

To be fair, while Twilight Princess has some of the best designs for Zelda characters, holy shit is the environment so bland and boring.
Also this.
This is why twilight princess is my favorite Zelda game next to OoT. It took a darker, more mature approach and left me with goosebumps. It was definitely (for lack of a better term) epic.
They should give more of their major IPs to western developers to mix things up from an external perspective. Maybe for a laugh do a Mario reboot featuring 90's sarcastic Brooklyn plumber Mario.
Now I genuinely want a Bungie-made Metroid game
Another bomb by nintendo... (P.S. Could change my name with my account???)
Nah, I think your name fits pretty well.
Yo guys Prime was in 2002 and Twilight in 2006 (I think) Nintendo hasn't done anything like that lately, you should probably accept that Nintendo needs to step up and make a game that caters to the kind of people who want a mature looking game, not just what you want. [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] "Haha look at this guy he thinks Nintendo should make games like HE wants! Nah Nintendo should just keep making games *I* like!"

Do you want a gritty reboot of Pajama Sam too? There are 4 Metroid Prime games, btw, newest one is from 2008.
Off topic, but when people edit their post just because someone rated them dumb, I rate them dumb.
I didn't though. That was me auto-merging.
