Now I genuinely want a Bungie-made Metroid game
The Metroid Prime games were already made by Western developers, which was one of the reasons I mentioned it.
The Metroid Prime games were already made by Western developers, which was one of the reasons I mentioned it.
This would be ironic :v:. Retro devs make the new Halo, Bungie makes the new Metroid.
Yo guys Prime was in 2002 and Twilight in 2006 (I think) Nintendo hasn't done anything like that lately, you should probably accept that Nintendo needs to step up and make a game that caters to the kind of people who want a mature looking game, not just what you want. [editline]19th January 2014[/editline] "Haha look at this guy he thinks Nintendo should make games like HE wants! Nah Nintendo should just keep making games *I* like!"
You make the mistake of assuming a game catering to your tastes is a 'step-up' from what they're doing now. You also make the mistake of basing your choice of video games so considerably upon it's appearance.
Am I seriously fucking reading this right now
Holy shit are you guys retarded? It's a fucking side-scrolling mario with some on rails shit. It has little in common with Mario 64/Sunshine/Galaxy. Good god your definition of "3D Mario" is fucking loose. 3D World plays more like Super Paper Mario than one of the 3D platformers. Seriously play the fucking game. God damn the retardation in this thread is ridiculous.
They've stated quite a few times that they'll close their doors completelby before going third/second party. Which is too bad but they have their reasons.
they are a public company they literally can't do that that. They're just saying that to get fans emotional.
2.5D
No, Super Smash Bros is 2.5d. Super Mario 3D World is 3D.
they are a public company they literally can't do that that. They're just saying that to get fans emotional.
they could go back to making card games instead
The fact that Nintendo makes "cartoony" games is the reason I like them, makes them stand out from an industry saturated with shooters.
this isn't 2008 anymore, we don't complain about bald space marine fps man anymore
this isn't 2008 anymore, we don't complain about bald space marine fps man anymore
but we do complain about brown filters and lens flare these days

The only difference is the semi-fixed camera and that they end with a flagpole instead of a star. And really, it plays "more like Super Paper Mario"? Are you trolling or high?
Huh, I thought this commercial addressed it clearly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsbeQeiwW9o
That girl's voice is a bit deep for someone her size/age
To get a better picture of the current situation, here is an over arching look at Nintendo's stock over a year's period: Also the drop ended up stabilizing to a 6.15% loss, instead of the 15-18% that happened right after the forecasts were slashed.
Nintendo should return to their NES, SNES and N64 roots.
So you mean become even less friendly to third parties and let almost no one make games for their systems without their approval?
So you mean become even less friendly to third parties and let almost no one make games for their systems without their approval?
Like they even were in the first place? At-least back then Nintendo weren't afraid of downright gory games, or at-least when comparing to today.
And they aren't afraid of gory/mature games now. Both the Wii and Wii U have a lot of mature rated games. [editline]20th January 2014[/editline] And for third party games it is very different now that is was back then. These days third party devs just don't want to make games for Nintendo's system, but in the past Nintendo decided if devs were allowed to make games for their systems.

The Wii had an attachment rate of 1.5 games per console, the vast majority of people only used their Wii to play Wii Sports. Third party developers didn't want to take that risk with the Wii U because of how Nintendo were (and still are) marketing the Wii U, poorly.
There's just no market for the Wii-U. The casual market that made the Wii a success has moved on to smartphones, and most core gamers prefer the PC, PS4 or the Xb1. The only market for the Wii-U are big dedicated Nintendo fans, but a console can't survive on fanboys alone.
Can someone tell me why this post is dumb rated? Its true, and Nintendo themselves said it themselves!
Can someone tell me why this post is dumb rated? Its true, and Nintendo themselves said it themselves!
You're intentionally downplaying the amount of people who will buy a Nintendo system for Nintendo games and other exclusives by calling them "big dedicated Nintendo fans" and "fanboys".
You're intentionally downplaying the amount of people who will buy a Nintendo system for Nintendo games and other exclusives by calling them "big dedicated Nintendo fans" and "fanboys".
What the fuck? Thats not even close to what i said. The simple fact is that the Wii-U is not selling, and the primary purchaser is someone who has been with nintendo for a while. I dont know who's anus you pulled that shit from but it wasn't mine i assure you. I dont have to "downplay" anything when even Nintendo says the same fucking thing.
