right
but if you drop your consumption and replace it with foods without that garbage you could very easily have a 500 calorie deficit
just expect to be very tired and eventually it won't work because your metabolism will decrease
CUT FAT.
You need calories from fat to be healthy too though. IIRC an ideal amount is the same amount of calories you get from protein a day.
I beg to differ. I've been on a healthy eating regiment for 5 months and been lifting weights for about 2 months now. I was never really out of shape but the dietary change was one of the easiest things I've ever done and a 30 minute lifting session can easily burn 500 calories. (though I usually lift for an hour and a half)
If you burn 500 calories in a 30 minute lifting session, somebody is either lying to you or you have a severe metabolism disorder. I think you're overshooting the numbers a bit there.

This won't work for someone who's like 20 pounds overweight. If they're 100+, yeah. It probably will.

I said cut fat, not eliminate it. The average person is taking in way more fat than they need to be healthy.

500 in 30 minutes of hard lifting isn't far fetched at all. You burn about 400 or something like that in 30 minutes of running which is a lot less intensive than one of my weight sessions.
Nice to know that I am the 1/4
I used to be rather large, and honestly it's not that hard to exercise, let alone just eat better.
People don't seem to realize if you take a lot of your sugar/fat out completely, you'll drop weight like fucking crazy.
Explain? As a beginner weightlifter myself, during the last two months I've been gaining weight but my bodyfat percent has been going down.
you're burning protein and carbohydrates when you exercise. the fat loss comes from speeding up your metabolism and your heart rate which causes a gradual shift in body weight

I lost 15 pounds by removing soft drinks alone, and another 15 by taking up daily walking.
I don't really care how slowly I lose weight, people are too obsessed with immediate results and that just won't happen. I could be 50 by the time I reach my healthy weight and I don't give a shit because I know I'm minimizing my odds of just gaining it back.

The disclaimer wasn't needed, golfclap never lies
I rode my bike for an hour every day with no other discernible changes. Lost ten pounds in a month.
Then I got hit by a car. This is proof that exercise kills.

Yesh bravo old sport

Sorry, I cant imagine being able to eat 6 bagels, or 2 cheeseburgers, spend a mere 30 minutes running or weightlifting, and expect to burn off all of that.
Who the fuck would eat 6 bagels

Holy dog shit which cheese burgers are you eating? 1000 calories is immense.
an ~80 calorie bagel?

:3:
Holy dog shit which cheese burgers are you eating that only have 250 calories?

I'm not eating cheeseburgers at all but i think of like those giant applebee's cheeseburgers
if you mean like a big mac that's about 520 calories
At a fast food place just get a burger without cheese and bacon and you're probably shaving off 150 calories right there
They use processed cheese slices which often have hydrogenated oils in them as well as that insta-bacon stuff that has more salt than meat in it
I dont eat them often. But a McDonalds cheeseburger has 330 calories, for the purpose of this argument.
Big macs are fairly heavy on sugar.

A Jalapeno Smokehouse Burger from Chili's has over 2000 calories.
All this talk about bacon and cheese and hamburgers is making me hungry, you're all the reason I'm still fat :colbert:

Which is funny because big macs aren't even really all that much to eat.

Are you one of the vegetarians that eats fish? Salmon Burgers are pretty good.
You guys should drink water instead of anything else(maybe a soda or some juice every once in a while)
I drank only water for 2 months and i lost 20 pounds
