why should anyone have to deal with your posting? It's really unfortunate really.
people should deal with autistics because seriously its not hard to just ignore someone or deal with it intelligently
You're right, but I never said it was essential for a decent social life, chances are that if you don't have a Facebook it's for a very autistic reason. The alternative of having loads of friends but not having a Facebook is not nearly as common.
And anyway considering jinx's response...I can't be that far off.
You seem to have really shitty opinions of autistic people. did one of them eat your crayons?
More like why the hell would you wish for someone to be born with autism anyway. That's more messed up for the child if anything
People are pretty terrible at that stuff
No, you can't, you CAN however file a complaint with the local police, if the owners don't listen; that is, if it bothers you that much.
Which is what this woman should have done.
So you are advocating that I call the police on a family because their child makes loud noises.
Again ignoring the fact that not all cities have noise ordinances.
Holy shit do you not understand the word subjective?
She could have likened the noise to an atomic bomb going off, does that mean that several windows in the neighborhood break every time he "wails".
I didn't know likened meant "had the exact same effects as". (It doesn't)
Having a disease does not entitle you to be an obnoxious shit. Even if he can't control it, his parents can.
How long have you spent caring for a child with Autism, exactly? Severe Autism?
Having a disease does not entitle you to be an obnoxious shit. Even if he can't control it, his parents can.
Obviously you don't know anybody with an autistic child.
They fucking can't control him. THATS THE WHOLE POINT OF A LEARNING DISABILITY. It's either extremely hard or impossible to teach them something is wrong and they cannot do it.
Did you ever try going over and asking them to stop? Or better yet, calling the police and reporting the disturbance?
Yeah?
They're not breaking the law so I shut my window
[editline]19th August 2013[/editline]
Again, ignoring the fact that most do.
Wow you are inept aren't you. So can you actually confirm that this particular city has a noise ordinance in place that covers something like this? Or are you just going to ignore that you have to prove what you say.
Actually the police would probably compile a report, and if the issue is reported multiple times an investigation would be launched. There are laws against being loud as fuck for too long.
[editline]19th August 2013[/editline]
Again, ignoring the fact that most do.
Okay, lets say they do, then they investigate and find that it is an autistic child enjoying himself in the sun and the neighbors are assholes.
And honestly, there probably wouldn't be additional reports because there are only a few fucked up people in the world that would do that, you, that other person defending the lady, and this lady. The chance of an entire street filled with dicks is unlikely.
I understand being annoyed but you just don't fucking do that. Especially anonymously. If you're going to bitch, go up and say "hey, my kids are scared, can you talk to him?"
Having a disease does not entitle you to be an obnoxious shit. Even if he can't control it, his parents can.
Autistic children aren't animals you can put a muzzle on, they are people with free will.
I didn't know likened meant "had the exact same effects as". (It doesn't)
Wow. I deliberately made that statement to show how subjective "loudly wailing" is. Arguing semantics doesn't make you seem intelligent.
How long have you spent caring for a child with Autism, exactly? Severe Autism?
My high school math class went to the special ed department to teach the kids how to do basic math. And guess what? The instructors were able to calm down kids that did have episodes; even the severely autistic kids could be calmed so that their shouting/crying/wailing was at a more manageable level.
Obviously you don't know anybody with an autistic child.

Or maybe, just maybe, they could take him to a place in the house where the sound won't travel so easily. If your child has severe autism, you're going to be making a LOT of changes to your life.
Wait, so you're okay with euthanizing someone for being an asshole, but not a human being that can never contribute to society and is nothing but a detriment. It has been scientifically proven that the stress of caring for a severely disabled child presents health problems for their parents. These children are essentially parasites.
It's perfectly acceptable to be intolerant of this woman because you disagree with her beliefs, but if you don't like an utterly useless obnoxious child you deserve to be shot.
Nice argument.
Why is being able to contribute to society grounds for euthanization? I never got that with you Eugenicists.
Should we euthanize hermits too, now?
Wow. I deliberately made that statement to show how subjective "loudly wailing" is. Arguing semantics doesn't make you seem intelligent.
I'm pretty sure that if you asked people what they would describe as "loudly wailing", you'd find all the noises to be pretty fucking loud and obnoxious.

Yes because a highly trained professional is comparable to a mother with no training.
And fuck you assume that people can get the money to buy a new house out of fucking thin air?
Yes because a highly trained professional is comparable to a mother with no training.

First off, the mother could get training from the many, many, many centers that offer advice/help with autistic children.
Secondly, I meant taking the child to another place in the current house.

Lol wow you know who you remind me of

Yes and they still vary (also known as being subjective).
But hey, who gives a shit about hyperbole or word connotations, right?

So because you saw a teacher do it once, it's now applicable and possible in every situation involving a parental/authority figure and a severely autistic child?
Wow, you're really not good at this arguing thing.
you just agreed that you should euthanize someone because they are "Annoying" and "Useless?"
You know who else was like that?

Holy shit, you actually pulled out the Hitler defense. You enacted Godwin's Law in a discussion about autistic kids. You have lost any credibility.

yeah, there are ways to appease them... sometimes. What you experienced was probably a mild tantrum whereas most autistic children go full throttle in their comfortable home environments because it's familiar. In a place that they don't feel familiar with, they are more reserved (that does make them a lot more anxious and prone to outbursts) but it's a struggle of two different parts of them. They feel anxious but reacting the way they do will only cause them to be more anxious. They are sentient and understand a lot going around them but can't control themselves.

Training that costs fucking money.
The only place in a house that would be generally sound proof is the basement, are you suggesting that they lock their autistic child in the basement so the neighbors don't hear him?
Holy shit, you actually pulled out the Hitler defense. You enacted Godwin's Law in a discussion about autistic kids. You have lost any credibility.
and I don't give a shit
he never had any credibility to begin with with the way he's describing autistic children
this thread is full of really terrible posters right now. You people are pretty stupid. This pretty much goes beyond "Scientific statistics", posters in this thread are damn near personally attacking the disease for purely ignorant and selfish reasons. (like Himmler)
[sp]btw thats not ACTUALLY Hitler, and in this case, its honestly true, I DID partially do it as a joke but I honestly really support my decision completely[/sp]
So because you saw a teacher do it once, it's now applicable and possible in every situation involving a parental/authority figure and a severely autistic child?
Applicable? No. Should they at least try it? Yes.
Applicable? No. Should they at least try it? Yes.
And why do you think they haven't?
My high school math class went to the special ed department to teach the kids how to do basic math. And guess what? Autism is an incredibly complex disease that affects different people in different ways. One solution that applies to one child with autism will not necessarily apply to another successfully. Just like all children, each autistic child is unique and has unique and specific needs and responds differently. For that reason, you can't possibly say that because one specific person was able to calm down a specific group of autistic children, then this parent must have the ability to do the same for her child. To be able to assert something like that, you'd need a lot more information about this child and the children at your school than you have.
Also, since you disagreed with my previous post, I'm curious which part you disagreed with...Do you think autistic children are animals that you can put a muzzle on? Or, do you think they don't have free will?

FinalHunter and LambaAdvanced might as well be nazi's with the way they're talking
Holy shit, you actually pulled out the Hitler defense. You enacted Godwin's Law in a discussion about autistic kids. You have lost any credibility.
Godwin's law doesn't automatically remove all credibility unless you had no interest in proper debate.
Yet again ignoring the fact that a comparison between advocating the death of the mentally impaired with a regime that... advocated the death of the mentally impaired is actually a valid comparison.

Comparing someone to Hitler/Nazi's is the go to argument of someone who is unable to construct a thought out statement on their own.
Nothing in the article points towards it.
Holy shit, you actually pulled out the Hitler defense. You have lost any credibility.
You just called Heinrich Himmler Hitler because you don't know what else to say. You're using the "Waa waaa godwin" defense. You have lost any credibility.
