I don't see how being slowly fattened and kept in a disgusting, shitty pen with thousands of other bulls crammed next to you only to be shot in the head with an iron bolt and then having your throat sliced while being suspended in the air is any less barbaric.
If you knew the regulations, you'd know that a legally operating slaughterhouse is clean and sanitary. You'd also know that European law is very stringent on the whole procedure. The animals are stunned in a single blast, which destroys the ability to feel pain, and are restunned as necessary. Then they are killed in a single slice which bleeds them out ASAP, so in a matter of half-minutes, whilst they are, to all effects, dead to the world and pain. Then over 80% of the animal is made into meat, tallow, leather, bonemeal (fertilizer) and so on. UK law is even stricter, we're a nation of animal lovers. Don't know about US law.
This is not the same as slowly disabling limbs and muscles until it gives up and is dispatched for the sake of "fun".
Why the fuck does this sport still exist?
No sympathy.
It's not even a fair fight in the first place, the bull gets all those spikes sticked inside him before they start.
anyone who claims to have no sympathy is obviously mentally deficient and i recommend them to be checked by a psychiatrist
Yeah, we all go to the slaughterhouse to cheerfully watch the cows get skinned alive and bleed to death while enjoying a good hotdog.
I'm not protesting bullfighting, but wow, totally comparable.
I ate steak while peta videos of cows being killed to prove a vegan wrong :v:
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

There was a video not too long ago about an American slaughterhouse, I think it was quite a small one, but the guy put his prized cow through first as an example to show how humane the process was
Is anyone else too squemish to click the link?

Its hardly bad at all.
No sympathies, disgusting sport and disgusting people.
Well deserved.

Holy fucking shit, i cringed.

I have sympathy, the same way that I have sympathy for a guy who picked a fight with someone 8 times their size with spikes on their head and lost.
It sucks though, because he had good looks on his side before he got permanently disfigured - Then again, in Spain that might get you laid even better.
If you have no sympathy, or even said you "hope he is in pain" or "hope he dies", you are no better than he is. Yes, it is a dumb sport that shouldn't be legal, but hopefully this makes him rethink his decision to do such a thing in the first place, he doesn't deserve to be like this any more than anyone else does.

You realize that Spain is a different country, right? It's even in my family, my great-grandfather was in the military, my grandfather too, and my father nearly. We now live in Switzerland, where we've got great opportunities for different jobs, as Spain is in a massive crisis and it's pretty much the only way you can even get a job.
It's sad that such a unique and long-living tradition is suffering from such situations. Still, look at that guy - he got a fucking horn through his face, yet he stood up and walked away. Badass.
Not a matador, but a banderilla.
The bull does not always lose.
Is driving an inherently dangerous activity? No.
Yes, there's absolutely nothing dangerous about sending a two-tonne death machine screaming along at 70 miles an hour.
He's lucky to be alive
I really disprove of bullfighting, mostly because of what happens to the bulls, but also for when this sort of thing happens, it's horrible..
what
This is the first time in a while in where I've been shocked by a picture.
Yeah, not clicking that.
Damn, he was kind of good looking too. Now he's going to be pretty badly fucked up.
What exactly happens to the bulls before and after, I hear you guys nagging about it constantly, anyone care to elaborate?
cows get skinned alive and bleed to death.
Oh, also, that's fucking illegal.
If a slaughterhouse is acting like that, the employees responsible face animal cruelty charges and the house would probably be fined, possibly being shut down.
If you ever see a place like that, report it to whatever authority there is present, they'll take action.
Oh, and Sickle, the bulls die no matter what. They're probably butchered afterwards, but they won't have been bred with meat in mind, so will probably be fatty and poor quality. Not to mention stress makes the meat taste worse, and javelins in the back ruin the leather.
No sympathy at all, sorry.
He was just a shitty fighter I guess.
You don't have to feel bad for the guy who thinks he's able to backflip off a 2 storey building without any training. You don't have to feel bad for the guy who enters a ring with an injured and drugged bull and still manages to fuck up and get poled.
such sports are made so you don't have to feel bad for whoever is in the ring, Tragic sure, but in the end of the day not a single fuck will be given.
I don't feel sorry for him. Want to fight with a bull, you're asking for it. The 'it's tradition' argument doesn't work either. There are loads of things we don't do now that were popular in the past.
A bull doesn't want an idiot dressed in a pair of curtains annoying it!
what
I say mostly because another part of not liking it is if the matador gets gored, that's not a reason to like it surely
