Wiki says they'll likely be priced as expansions and I'm inclined to think that's reasonable, considering if you have one you have the full multiplayer experience already.
Aren't all the games going to have full multiplayer capabilities? If that's the case, then all the games are probably going to be full price. Still, Blizzard did a lot of stuff I'm not too fond of. Wings of Liberty is already $60, and they announced they are releasing "expansion packs" before the game is even done. Getting a job right now isn't exactly easy, so I'm stuck with no money the shovel into SC2. [editline]09:38PM[/editline] Plus I'm probably going to be sick of the Terrans after the 30th mission or so with them.
Can I play with you?
Be my guest
Aren't all the games going to have full multiplayer capabilities? Blizzard said each game would have about as much singleplayer content as the first Starcraft and that was 30 missions
Smart move on their part. Will put less stress on their servers when the game is released.
Going to laugh if this manages to get cracked.
The last SC2 beta was cracked, people even made top quality bots to play with.
Everyone saying they'll laugh if it gets cracked, I'm sure that the important parts of the package are encrypted similar to the way steam does preloading, and I highly doubt it's going to get cracked before launch. Hell if they wanted to they could just leave the executable out of the preload so you're only downloading the resource files, and I guarantee blizzard is smart enough to come up with a solution like that.
Starcraft 2 is too colorful. Thats my only issue with it. Its hella fun though and in the end that is all that matters.
I don't want to buy it if it doesn't come out on steam. That is where all my games are.
Starcraft 2 is too colorful. Thats my only issue with it. Its hella fun though and in the end that is all that matters.
What I hate is how the game turned into spam as many units as you can.
What I hate is how the game turned into spam as many units as you can.
It was always that.
What I hate is how the game turned into spam as many units as you can.
Did you even play the first game. [editline]01:13AM[/editline]
Starcraft 2 is too colorful. Thats my only issue with it.
What I hate is how the game turned into spam as many units as you can.
Zerg rushes?
Zerg rushes?
Every race, tbh
What I hate is how the game turned into spam as many units as you can.
Um it was like that in Starcraft 1 it isn't as simple as you are making it sound.
It will be cracked fairly soon. Don't worry.
It was always that.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kzvv__4fuio 12 minutes in, Terrans could have easily crushed the Zerg. It's not just about spamming units. [editline]03:33AM[/editline]
Zerg rushes?
That's not what a Zerg rush is. [editline]03:35AM[/editline]
How dare they make Starcraft 2 look good.
Colorful is fine, I just think they made it too bright. The "darkness" of the first game was what set it apart from games like DoW.
Then adjust your gamma settings.
This is definitely news worthy
Then adjust your gamma settings.
I don't think you understand. They made SC2 cartoon-ish. It feels to much like SupCom, C&C, etc. The typical "modern" RTS's.
I've been playing the beta since April, I keep getting owned online
I don't think you understand. They made SC2 cartoon-ish. It feels to much like SupCom, C&C, etc. The typical "modern" RTS's.
starcraft has always been a cartoon
I don't think you understand. They made SC2 cartoon-ish. Jeez, how do I put this... Okay, compare this: [img_thumb]http://www.co-optimus.com/images/upload/image/classic/starcraft02.jpg[/img_thumb] to this: [img_thumb]http://www.gotfrag.com/files/upload/sc_zerg_1.jpg[/img_thumb] You can see that In Starcraft 2 everything looks more like plastic. The Terran look less metallic and the Zerg look less fleshy. I mean, look that the cinematics for the first Starcraft: It's not just a hurr turn your gamma down problem. It's about the tone and atmosphere. Sure, I could be wrong, and it could be GOTY FOREVER when it comes out, but right now it doesn't appear as interesting as the first Starcraft. As a Youtube comment put it best: "This is what starcraft is all about, Rednecks in space with shitty halfway working badass tech and country electric guitar tunes." I haven't seen any of that as of yet. It's just "Humans good guys, aliens bad guys argh now we fight pewpewpew". The thing I miss most is the old Jim Raynor. He was the most human to me, and now they turned him into the typical "grrr I get drunk I have a very dark past" type of guy. I don't know, you would have to have played the first one to understand. [editline]04:47AM[/editline]
How dare they make Starcraft 2 look good. They did the exact same thing with Diablo 3.
Yeah, and I'm not crazy about that either.
Installer has been cracked.
Jeez, how do I put this... The Terran look less metallic and the Zerg look less fleshy.
That's because it's 3D.
Sure, I could be wrong,
Could be?
right now it doesn't appear as interesting as the first Starcraft.
I said the exact same thing about Left4Dead 2.
As a Youtube comment put it best: "This is what starcraft is all about, Rednecks in space with shitty halfway working badass tech and country electric guitar tunes."
Go back to your Lynyrd Skynyrd albums. TUUUUUUUESDAAAAAAAYS GOOOOOOOOOOONE, AWAAAAAAAAAAY
I haven't seen any of that as of yet. It's just "Humans good guys, aliens bad guys argh now we fight pewpewpew".
And this isn't better than space rednecks?
The thing I miss most is the old Jim Raynor. He was the most human to me, and now they turned him into the typical "grrr I get drunk I have a very dark past" type of guy.
That tends to happen if the woman you love/fuck is killed and turned into some sort of psychic insect space prostitute.
I don't know, you would have to have played the first one to understand.
I did.
Installer has been cracked.
Well that was fast. [editline]05:26AM[/editline]
That's because it's 3D.
Everything in 3D has to look like plastic?
Could be?
Yeah.
I said the exact same thing about Left4Dead 2.
I was not aware that in L4D2 the zombies wore bright neon colored t-shirts.
Go back to your Lynyrd Skynyrd albums.
What does this have to do with anything? I'm not saying I like the music, I'm saying that the Terrans listen to it. It characterizes them. You wouldn't see Solid Snake listening to trance, would you?
And this isn't better than space rednecks?
Nope. The space rednecks were the Confederates. They were outlaws and exiles from Earth sent by the UPL to the fringes of Earth controlled space to set up colonies. That's why they acted so differently from the UPL, who were all fancy-shmacy and had European accents. However, the computer guidance system failed and sent them way farther than originally planned. Since they were so far away from the UPL, they set up their own government, the Confederacy, on Tarsonis. The UPL were actually still watching them, but they didn't give two shits whether some backwater space colonies survived or not. However, the Confederacy was successful, and managed to build their own sub-warp engine in 60 years. A few hundred years later, they became under attack by the Zerg and Protoss, each with their own agenda. This forced the UPL, now the UED, to join the fray, since the aliens could be a direct threat to Earth. A little more complicated than "good guys vs. bad guys".
That tends to happen if the woman you love/fuck is killed and turned into some sort of psychic insect space prostitute.
He seemed okay in Brood War. Then suddenly in the sequel he's all emotional and drinks, the cliche generic drunkard with the DARK PAST. In SC1 he showed normal human emotion and was relatable. So little stories have characters like that nowadays that a NORMAL HUMAN BEING is actually a breath of fresh air.
A little more complicated than "good guys vs. bad guys".
I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had a full copy of Starcraft 2's plot.
I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had a full copy of Starcraft 2's plot.
Yes but after all the videos I watched of SC2 did I see any space rednecks? Noooooooo I did not.
Yes but after all the videos I watched of SC2 did I see any space rednecks? Noooooooo I did not.
I'm sorry I didn't realize you were head of the Blizzard writing department.
I'm sorry I didn't realize you were head of the Blizzard writing department.
Okay guys here are a couple of HL2 Episode 3 videos. But wait. There's no mention of the Combine. And Gordan Freeman is now an annoying teenager. Yayyyyyyy
