Planning for the zombie apocalypse? Buy this house
The one flaw with that house is that it's apparently at the top of a hill, very visible for miles around from below(at least in that picture it is).
Every zombie for miles will see the slightest flicker of light or fire through those huge windows. Any Road Warrior type survivors will see it as well. Windows which by the way will warm that house up during most of sunny So Cal's generally warm temps. You'll be sweating without air conditioning, which is too big a power drain for a house that size to run off a generator.
I'd want the exact opposite: a fortified house in a low point, surrounded by high ground. This way I could do whatever I want whenever I want and no one outside the surrounding high points would see it.
It wouldn't be hard to cover some windows in rooms that you'll want to use power in.
If there's an apocalyptic situation, A/C is the last thing I'm going to be concerned about. Fuck all if it's 103', as long as I'm sitting pretty on my perch on the hill with a guarded water resource.
$7.25 million for that?
This is much more economical and has it's own pool.
Plus this is also applicable to nuclear threats.

^^^ helicopter included
also a cheaper and yet effective alternative is just to get a panic room because that's what paranoid rich people get anyway
It needs a cloaking device.
$7.25 million.
That's the price to pay for the protection of everything you hold dear from turning into a walking corpse.
That's pretty cheap considering what it is.
Los Angeles has some pretty expensive property.

Mansion?
Zombies?
Doesn't sound good.
Oh it looks like the complex has The Hive in it. They are surely fucked.
Everyone knows complexity is a bad idea, the best way to survive is in the simplest of fashions. Baseball bats, shovels, guns, and a Mall.
You do realise just because it says security, doesn't mean it's zombieproof.

Why not just get a gun? ALOT cheaper, and it makes you cool :smug:.
Its a nice house, but who the fuck is that paranoid.
If you have the money why NOT prepare for any event, however unlikely? I mean, at least you're putting your money towards something potentially useful instead of blowing it on fast cars and shit.
It's not paranoia. It's just preparation.
Who owns it? Bin Laden?
Why would Bin Laden be in America?

The last place we'd look...
I think that house is pretty awesome, except for all the windows.
*close door behind you*
"OH FUCK, I LEFT THE KEYS INSIDE!" /caps
My dream house is a missile silo. Imagine the amount of shit you could do with it. Also is nuclear and zombie proof and I could fit a farm at the bottom with fake sunlight. With solar panels, windfarm, and generators for electricity. All I need is one gun and bullets and im golden. Hopefully the main doors on top will be raised up hopefully 10 feet higher than ground level so I could chill up on it.
You can buy abonded cold war missile silos for like 200.000 dollar these days.
Like 1/4 of these cost less than 300.000 dollar, wich is a lot less than most European suburb houses.

They're pretty gray and plain tough.
Maybe if everyone on facepunch donates 5$ we could buy the one with the swimming pool.
dem zombies
These bunkers all seem to have swimming pools but no facilitys for producing food.
Also, you could build one yourself for far less money.

That oughta keep those damn zombies out.
It's called a padlock and a gun.
All you need is a place with solid locking doors and enough food and water for a few weeks.
If zombies shamble around not eating and bleeding all the time, they must not live for very long.
I am going to start saving now so I can buy and renovate a missile silo into a home now.
I got 4 years till 18 so from there, I guess maybe when I am 30 so 14 years of saving if I plan right.
That is hoping I get a good job and if I skip college, so closer to 40 years of age.
Fuck you world I don't care what you do I will survive.
I swear, you guys shouldn't have linked me to that missile silo site, I've found houses within my post-collage price range.
This needs mounted turrets
