Stopped playing this after a week.
I stopped playing it when I played VVVVVV, and realised how dull and souless the Call of Duty series was, and how much better TF2 was at multiplayer. I'm actually ashamed of myself for buying it - never making that mistake again!
I'd hardly call caring for PC gamers trying to keep cod alive, considering the majority of the playerbase of cod is on consoles

TF2 was good, until it became a massive cesspool of items and MANconomy. That was crossing the line imo, but thats another matter.
ontopic: Only bad things about the game that I saw every now and then was the stuttering caused by the sounds, several random crashes on loadings (1 of them only aknowledged as a fatal error, all the others had to be manually shut down), and the killcam "lag".
Probly other bugs around, but those are the worst. Let's see if this is finally fixed when I get home.
You're all idiots. At least they actually give 2 shits about the PC side unlike IW. They care, you guys give them shit. If I were them I would just say fuck all of you and forget the PC side completely.
IW didn't need to fix anything in their game though. I wish people would get the fucking message.
The game worked how they wanted it to be - P2P matchmaking. Even if it's unbalanced, consoles or pc didn't get a patch to fix it.
I know it was hacker riddled but we'll have to wait and see what Treyarch does.
i'm on a C2D and this solved the huge FPS drops. great.

the stuttering sound is still there tho

Hopefully the stuttering sound is next on their list.
yay, now i may have to buy this :D
any one else have trouble reading that white on black
Well, I'll try this out when I get home, hope this fixes most problems.

Maybe I'll finally be able to actually play zombies
Running great for me, nice update.
It'll run smooth for 30 seconds then it just pauses for like 10 seconds total. Just stops. Warming has done nothing for me on or off.
either A:
they actually care this time
or B:
they changed a text file by adding a space somewhere, lied about what the update actually was, and hoped nobody would notice because of the placebo effect
Gamewinning killcam is fixed. Much smoother and exploits got fixed.
They do care.
Zombies still isn't working for me, as soon as I select the game tries to connect to the servers but apparently locks up for a couple of seconds and then fails.
Anyone have a workaround for this?
caring is out of the matter, we paid for our product, they delivered a broken product, trying to fix this to keep their reputation a float with PC fans is not caring, it is a necessity for future COD titles for them.
Because everyone had problems. My game was fine since release so it wasn't "broken" entirely. And omg a game has glitches worse gayme evar!!!!
You're all hating it because it's CoD. Yes MW2 was a piece of shit but so what? Have you guys forgotten the first week of CSS and HL2 when it was released?
Atleast they are trying to fix the game. Performance on my PC is much better with this update.
It's funny because it's worked for me perfectly since I bought it.

I loved Call of Duty 4 and MW2, despite all the shit people talked about them. Even though MW2 was consolized it still played damn well, and as long as nobody was OMAing or tacknifing or quickscoping it was really well balanced. Before Black Ops was released I was all for it, couldn't wait for dedicated servers (I had assumed you would be able to set them up the way you wanted to, but no; since Treyarch decided you can only rent them from one provider and they've got a strict-as-hell set of rules I won't bother renting one), removal of quickscoping (they also unfortunately nerfed sniper rifles to be nearly-always ineffective pieces of shit), and modding the game (maybe we'll get mod tools after episode 3 rolls out). I didn't care that it wasn't an Infinity Ward title and I didn't care that the last CoD title was consolized, I was preordering it.
I regret it.
Treyarch does not give a flying fuck about the PC. I'm convinced they didn't playtest it on the PC, since it was broken for dual-cores for months up until now (or if you just changed two numbers in a config, wonder why it took so long?), constantly crashed and fucked up my PC a few times, and about a day after release if I remember right they started asking the community to twit them any bugs they find (I wouldn't normally care, but when they decide to playtest the game after they release it is when I stop supporting them). I just wish I could have gotten a refund on it.
Broken? not really. A little messed up? Yeah.
I think they need to add Matchmaking, not having it on PC has a lot of drawbacks, such as not being able to bet more in Wager Matches.
I stopped playing a week after release because the game was boring, not because of performance.
Broken? not really. A little messed up? Yeah.
If it's unplayable for most people (55% according to Steam surveys, number of people with dual cores) it's not just a little broken
If it could be mostly fixed by changing two numbers in a config why has it taken months?

No wonder i did so good on Nuketown i didn't notice that i wasn't getting shot in the back!

IW did with Cod4, we got the free maps and SDK.
[editline]16th December 2010[/editline]
Also, when do we get out zombie maps?

I have a dual core, it was never unplayable.
[editline]17th December 2010[/editline]
also, changing 2 numbers in the config? Yeah... no.

Changing it so that it didn't try to use two gpus (which is set by default) and so that it used more than one core (which was default too) fixed most of it for me, but they couldn't have been assed to put that in their 9mb patch could they?
actually now that I think about it they couldn't have been assed to do anything with that 9mb patch
Sure is a lot of bitching about patches lately.
I want them to get rid of all the hackers.
Shame that I had zero performance issues before this patch, and the game crashes on startup after...
why do I get the feeling this is bullshit
Becaues it is. I still get the damn stuttering and random fps drops. Plus, the server browser still never lists any servers for me...
