I've thought the same thing. No foreign intervention. No foreign aid. Just go silent. See how things turn out. Let us see what the rest of the world misses more. Our military, or our aid money.
You know, I think you and I have a lot of things we can agree, this being one of them.
What do you even mean by this?
Sleep in the bed you made? It means enjoy the consequences of your actions. Governments don't work autocratically. Stop victimizing yourself? That's self-explanatory. The guy I quoted is pretending the west is attacked and condemned at every corner and there's just one big group that says all western actions are wrong.

RT is one of the most biased sources I can think of and some of it's articles look like they came straight out of The Onion. Now that I have gotten that off my chest I think even though the killing is out of control in Syria and aid is desperately needed, I can understand why Putin is trying everything he can do in an effort to to keep Assad in power including sending warships in an effort to "scare" other countries away. Like the other user said he chose to support the Syrian government and in doing that didn't make any friends with the Syrian people. I believe he's just trying to hold onto Syria with friendly terms towards Russia rather than a Syria which would absolutely hate Russia for supporting Assad.
stand back and enjoy the flir cams?

These people will not allow Assad to stay in power, so he can either kill them all or isolate the areas that are against him. The Syrian people know Russia is supporting him, the best thing Russia can do now is protect their resources.
