Son of fucking bitch I fucking knew that the logo would be like that sooner or later.
Just watched it in 1080p for the first time. Noticed you could see his eyes. Made me jump all over again.

This looks like its turned into another HL2 leak...
This looks like its turned into another HL2 leak...
Except for the fact the source code was not leaked this time. Also, Dota 2 was already in beta, on the contrary to Half Life 2 which was only available for internal use at Valve at the time it got leaked.
It's a leak nonetheless. It's still a reason.
Are you seriously saying that because a few snippets of code was leaked (WEAPON CODES), they have a legitimate reason to delay the entire thing? You severely overestimate the impact this leak has on Episode 3.
[release]Dota 2 episode leaked. Contains EP3 code[/release] My mind is full of fuck
Uhh no. It just caused a delay in the whole game, and Valve started over.
If you actually played the leak, you'd realise that apart from some maps (many of them already scrapped), many of the maps look very similar to the final game. The weapons and such are also similar, most of the removed weapons were already, well removed, at this point. Most enemies were already removed, save for the Bullsquid, if memory serves me right. Most of the maps were the same or similar, if not switched around a bit and largely unfinished. Valve did not start over, they were upset, but they stayed on track and finished the game as they intended. The leak didn't change anything.
Part of Ep3 leaked. Gabe: DELAY EPISODE 3 FOREVER.
I think the sniper guys voice lines are placeholders
yeh tf2's gameplay wasn't affected at all
They won't release micro transactions that affect the game like they do in TF2. It's DOTA. If anything it's code for a hat shop or a skin shop. "Gear" as in skins for your hero, just like in HoN and LoL. It doesn't surprise me that they found that code, and it won't surprise me if DOTA2 is F2P.
I think the sniper guys voice lines are placeholders
Yeah, they kind of sound terrible. :v:
what if its like, when a new valve game comes the logo turns more and sometime we'll see the face? pls?
I thought they hired some homeless guy to pose for those pictures, after reading an interview about it or something. Did they find him again or what?
I thought they hired some homeless guy to pose for those pictures, after reading an interview about it or something. Did they find him again or what?
I thought they used a homeless guy for Eli's face?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GABEN WILL DELAY IT!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Please, shut the hell up, Nova.
I thought they hired some homeless guy to pose for those pictures, after reading an interview about it or something. Did they find him again or what?
Maybe they took plenty of photos initially and didn't use em all. until now.
I thought they used a homeless guy for Eli's face?
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/21/valve-logo-origins-who-is-the-bald-guy/ found the article, not homeless but just some random guy they pulled off the street. eli was definitely homeless though maybe they kept his contact information or shot several images, who knows

Well it's good to hear that they're still alive and doing something other than putting more hats into TF2. [editline]20th September 2011[/editline] I'm not much interested in DOTA 2, but I hope the leaks of ep3 code is legit since it would be nice knowing that they have actually made some progress on it and is not just laying around in some idea bin collecting dust.
Holy shit that new intro got me freaked out for a second, I swear I had a nightmare just like that where the face turns around.
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/04/21/valve-logo-origins-who-is-the-bald-guy/ found the article, not homeless but just some random guy they pulled off the street. eli was definitely homeless though maybe they kept his contact information or shot several images, who knows
I was thinking the same thing. Either they contacted him or got some other dude's face.
We selected the bald guy from the batches of “off-the-street” polaroids—he was literally pulled out of a coffee shop or book store!
So they pulled this guy away from his breakfast or morning read, stripped him naked, stuck a valve into his head and photographed him from behind in a dark room?
So they pulled this guy away from his breakfast or morning read, stripped him naked, stuck a valve into his head and photographed him from behind in a dark room?
And no one found it odd.
I WANT TO BELIEVE.

I really fucking hope the EP3 code part is true.
You are not alone.
Uh every Source game are built over a Client-Server model, even Singleplayer ones
I assume this is to help modders to make a multiplayer mod for a singleplayer game?
LOLOAFJFAKFGAHDFGHAHFASJKBN B That was an wtfexcited reaction.
I'm surprised they haven't found any hat code. I mean, it mustn't be difficult to miss seeing as it's so huge.
