It seems logical. I think they have been working on it for a while. Maybe they have been developing it for years on end in secret in some secret lab, located somewhere in the desert....kind of like Black Mesa.

They're slowly releasing bits of code in other games.

In twenty years or so, we'll all have complete copies of Episode Three.

In before Valve announces EP3 content has been leaked and thus they have to start all over again, just like they did with HL2.

Fun bit of info: The space between Half life and Half life 2 was 6 years, the space between HL2 and EP3 is currently 7 years.

Didn't they switch to the episodic model to get stuff out faster. funny how that works out.

They DID release two other Episodes and 6 other games in that 7 year gap.
