i meant the idea that women aren't smart enough to choose to abort in the 138 days before the ban shouldn't be an issue but it apparently is.
normally the earlies sign of pregnancy can be figured out 3-4 weeks after conception. that leaves another 15 WEEKS to decide. that's a long fucking time.
If you think your pregnant sure you can know a few weeks in, but early signs of pregnancy are easily missed. Its not uncommon for a woman to miss her period for a month or two just from stress, your assuming they would know right away.
edit:
That and its not an easy choice for all the same reasons people still argue it.

i believe what he means is post-birth abortion which has been advocated by people like Alisa Laport Snow in the past. there are feminists that are seriously trying to find a way to make this ethical. not all feminists by any means but some of the more vocal ones.

thats not what she said at all lol what a random thing to pull out of nowhere
At least there's some sort of ban. I'd rather see a complete ban on it, as it is murder. Whether born or not, it's a human being and you're killing it.

where is the objective factual point when it stops being a collection of cells and starts being a human
guys, this is about LATE term abortion, like 22 weeks. normally i'm pro-choice but late second trimester stuff is extremely gruesome and very hazy legally.
maybe it'd be less fucked-up if the government spent its time trying to regulate the safety of the practice instead of banning it altogether.
people are still going to get late-term abortions regardless of whether or not they are legal - the difference is that legal and regulated late-term abortions don't come at the risk of fatally injuring the women trying to get them.
do people control their own bodies or don't they? this just means that now the house has declared sovereignty over every woman's body in the united states.
and why would it be okay for the woman to declare sovereignty over the baby
[editline]20th June 2013[/editline]
there isn't an ontological distinction between a fetus and a baby
don't you find it strange how your moral calculus draws a gigantic symbolic, mystical boundary made out of amniotic fluid
