All terrorists havve to have some form of personal fashion, however the new age terrosits thend to copy the fashion of the older more basass terrorists. If you look at South America, you'll find a lot of the young new age terrorists all like to have some style of Che Guvara to them to represent their people. Most of the time this will generally be something to do with the hat.
However if we go over to arabian lands you'll find that everyone is pretty much wearing their local area colours for their head scarf and then they are wearing sunglasses, because it's all part of the fashion over there. However every so called Westernised army will all wear the same uniform, only with minor changes such as equipement. But of course, you average soldier will like to customise his/her uniform, but in a normal army they can't, so what they do is they will go over to a more guerilla style army which is usually terrorists, because terrorist armys don't have a uniform, so they can then customise their uniform, which then attracts more over to the side of being a terrorist.
Everyone wants to be part of a Terrorist group because its sort of what every young boy will want to do when he grows up, he feels part of something, as if they are liberating people, however if they are given proper education they may not go over to the Terrorist side and prehaps be a normal citizen, or even they may join the actually army of their own country. But the attraction to terrorism will still be here unless we, the westernised society, build more educational stuff over there like schools which can then teach the people of that country what they should be doing, but you should try not to involve anything to do with beleif systems like Religion because this will just cause the parents to not want to send their kids to the school for a proper education, so they (the teachers) have to be extremely Centrist to make the teaching over there work.
However there are lots of things that hold these construction plans back like the terrorists that are still in that area, so the UN has to send in soldiers to take back the land for the Government of the country, however then the terrorists fight back harder and harder, so then the UN send more troops, and the next thing you know is that you have a War on your hands. But if they work hard and quick enough, they may actually manage to do it and get it working. And then there will be less youth to become terrorists, but not enough properly trianed soldiers are there to do anything.
So yeah, educate to win.

James, I'm really happy for you, Jeremy and that small person and all, but I haven't seen a Top Gear Game yet, so I'm wondering when you make your game. But of course you must not forget that video games are the worlds most creative industry, although it was originally art that took this place it was took over by Video games because it lets people do sound textures and 3D modeling. Although some video games can be considered a work of art when they are released, this is a fabrication as a video game is a video game and not a piece of art, mind you under todays standards anything is art. Which brings me back to the fashion of soldiers and how they want to customise their gear.
However that is another point as to which I must state that I am all for customisation in everything, as everything should be changable in some way. Like this beer I'm drinking, I've made a nice patern of Strongbow and Gaymers cider in a shape of a pyramid. Whoa, steam has finished downloading Americas Army 3.
