Lunch Scholars Video Reveals Students Can't Answer Basic Trivia

These kind of videos are absolutely worthless since they cherry-pick peoples dumbest moments.
I saw a video similar to this where one of the students said he believed the Soviet Union won the Civil War.
i moved from homeschool to high school in august, and i'm constantly surprised by how stupid kids are these days
is this really how stupid americans are if so then my god...
I thought the United states had 46 states, since 4 are Commonwealths, so take that!
And I'm American
And I was taught we had 50 states
But I'm still saying, technically, 46 god damnit
The commonwealths count as states.

i could go to a canadian school and cherry pick dumb answers and say every canadian is stupid, too
fuck, everyone i know who goes to my high school aren't that dumb
i guarantee you that they also know the capital, that's just a really stupid school
wait, what high school is this?
i got the feeling this was staged
teenagers who go to school can't possibly be this dumb
I'm not trying to defend against the idea of him being dumb and all, but not everyone who attends school wants to.
Kids are pretty dumb these days.
I know
It's not just high school kids, most people are stupid
I remember reading something once about how the majority of Americans have no idea who Joe Biden is, and this video demonstrates that
it's not that they are stupid, just uninformed.

Technically speaking, we have 45 states, 4 commonwealths, and a territory (speaking, of course, out of the current "50 states;" the US has plenty more territories in other regions). North Dakota had a certain clause in its state constitution that invalidated their statehood, which they'll have reinstated once they fix the clause in November.

To be fair, you almost never hear about Joe Biden in the media; he keeps a really low profile. I even forgot who he was for a brief moment when I was listening to the news on the radio.
This isn't the video section AFAIK
When it got to the question about what countries border the US and they couldn't even answer that I knew it had to be fake.
People aren't that stupid are they?
Isn't most of this stuff we learned in first grade?
Why do they call it Washington state? Just regular Washington is already different than Washington DC.

she's phot.
I am sure a similar thing done in any other country would also prove that stupid people exist there too.
Stupid people have always been, are, and will always be, everywhere.
These are questions that generally are completely useless to know... it's not "basic" questions.
Like politics
You're trolling right?

The kids shown in video literally are that stupid
However, the people who actually answered the questions correctly (the majority) were cut
I did a similar, albeit much smaller study back in junior high. I asked 15 people how long it took for the earth to go around the sun. 3 of them got it right.
More than one person answered a Week.
Believe me, people CAN be this stupid.
...Canada? No that's a state...
Everyone knows Canada is a state. We just have our flag that we parade around.
I thought this was more sad than it was funny.

She's "a unit of illumination equal to one lumen per square centimeter?"
I know I'm from the UK, but a couple of those questions were pretty difficult.
For example, I had no idea that there even was a city called Olympia, and the democratic candidate question almost felt like a trick question. And I would have called it the US War of Independence, but I think that's because that's what it's called in the UK.
However, 53 states, The state of Canada, the countries of South America, Urope, Utopia, Vice Presidents George Bush, Bill Clinton and Bin Laden and the Civil War of Independence are all completely inexcusable.

I'll admit, I don't know many state capitals myself, though I think that's somewhat excusable.
The Democratic candidate question was a trick question in the sense that there can only be one candidate, and they're dumb because they obviously don't know what Democrats are if they can't make the connection
Notice how he used the same people for every question. He obviously found a number of stupid people and stuck with them because he knew that they know nothing.
Do some research yourself and you will find that most eighth graders could answer all of these questions. If you pick stupid people, you get stupid answers. The same thing would happen in any country.
Why do they call it Washington state? Just regular Washington is already different than Washington DC.
Because nine out of ten times, when someone (particularly a news article) says "Washington," they mean D.C.
It really fucking pisses me off, too. Just fucking say "Washington D.C." you lazy cunts. It's two letters for fuck's sake.

Or just "DC" it's even easier
it's what I do
Didn't they interview a bunch of people in the UK, and 25% thought Winston Churchill was a fictional character?
