fuck I don't know the first question
fuck I don't know the first question
yeah, that's not even general knowledge. Unless the capital of Washington somehow played a pivotal role in US history, it's just detail geography.

The guy asking the questions in the video was at a high school in Washington.
also I'm a retard and never think of United States when I hear the "U" question
that was painful to watch
I don't get why not knowing things that aren't relevant to daily life makes you dumb.
This is why I hate high school. I may only have a B/C average, yet I know how to connect things to the real world and filter out the crap (hence the B/C average). A mindless notetaking gerbil could get a better score then me, but does he really know more?

Vice President/Stars on Flag is irrelevant?
His point isn't "hurr all americans are dumb idiots"
His point is that he doesn't even live in the same fucking country as these fools and he knows more about it than them. There's no excuse to live in America and not know how many goddamn countries border it, or a few of the other questions presented.
Good god I wish bad reading wasn't gone. Everyone just seems to jump on a "these kids are cherry picked blablabla" or even "it's totally staged" party. Yes, these people actually exist.
News flash, there are actually people this dumb, and there's not a single excuse to be this uneducated. It's like living in Australia and not knowing that your country is an island. Or living in the United Kingdom and thinking France is to the north and Scotland is somewhere to the east.
There are dumb people and always will be dumb people, the fact is that especially for teenagers our society seems to encourage being dumb. Just look at how kids treat their peers, if someone is smart and talented, they're a "nerd," "geek," etc, as if there's something wrong with being smart or different

And these are a bunch of complete morons, I knew the answer to all of these
I mean, who can't look at a map of the world and tell where the Middle East is?
Love how I could answer all the questions and I'm a dirty socialist.
Stuff like this wouldn't happen in Urope.
Stuff like this wouldn't happen in Urope.
nah it really would, you can make any group of people look like a bunch of idiots when you only show the dumbest answers
I hope nobody actually takes this as evidence of a broken schooling system in the US (there is some evidence, but this isn't it)

it's funny because you know nothing about how to conduct an unbiased survey
Oh my God. I have to show this to my Global teacher. He thinks OUR school is bad.

They did the same exact thing for British people and German people and for whatever reason, a bunch of people attempted to invalidate both of the videos making Brits and Germans look stupid as much as they possibly could by bringing up irrelevant bullshit such as the video creator not using the correct spelling (or their idea of the correct spelling of) "colours."
To be honest, those people who just complained about the smallest things in those videos are evidence that some europeans will insult other countries and think it's A-okay, but when their country is involved in anything, then suddenly it's terrible.

Go look at the dislike bar in this video and compare it to the one you showed, as you can see, the Brits watching it are being biased as FUCK.

Fucking THIS.
Yes there are stupid people in the US but there are stupid people everywhere, and it's even more stupid to actually stereotype an entire nation of people
This doesn't belong under sensational headlines seeing as its not really news. Its more like a video of 4 dumb kids who cant answer simple questions.
This shit is depressing.
Kids probably have been always dumb, you have absolutely no evidence but videos like this, and I'm sure if people made videos like this for every generation of teenagers.
Goddammit every time I see these kinds of posts I want to punch the person who made them.
Edit: Oh look, 30+ agrees. God dammit you guys are all fucking morons and have no idea what you are talking about. Explain to me how kids are suddenly dumb and give me some undeniable proof that everybody under your age is a downs syndrome child. Because I'm pretty sure you've had your fair share of idiots in your generation.
Albert Fish and Ed Gein existed and kids not knowing some trivia makes you hate everyone?
Edit: Wow cani, with arguments like that I don't know WHAT to say. Oh man you really got me you really aren't some lazy fuck who is so lazy he can't take five seconds to make a slightly less vague post on WHY I'm so dumb.
Edit 2: Oh man, garrynohome, you are one genius motherfucker. I can tell you are great at arguing because you spend your time on the internet indirectly calling people dumb without explaining.
Nonono, this is basic fucking stuff, the CURRENT Vice President; the one war that made us, oh, just a fucking COUNTRY; the amount of states we have shouldn't even be a fucking question that US citizens get wrong; and if you actually thought Canada was a state as a teenager you HAVE to be mentally retarded.

Wow, they should bring back the bad reading rating and call it dyslexic just because of you.
Quote me where I said that this wasn't basic knowledge or called them "not stupid." Come on do it. Because I'm pretty sure I was just saying that A big fat ass is being an elitist prick and acting like dumb kids suddenly just appeared in this generation.
It's official.
Idiocracy is about to become a real deal. :v:

We're all gonna be drinking Gatorade out of water fountains.
Alright, everyone give me a list of general trivia you think high school kids should know. Don't be america specific since i dont live there but general political works, like "who is head of stare/province" etc.
I'm going to test this at my school, and record all answers.

-How old is the earth?
-Which is larger, the Earth or the Sun?

It's harder to make completely area nonspecific questions, as they are really a sign of how well informed a person is
I made some questions I assumed that most people in the western world could answer, and I added the answers in parenthesis along with why I think it's an easy question, though I may have left out why if I think it should be in if it's just so obvious
How many sides does a hexagon have? (6, slightly harder than the completely retarded triangle question)
What well known war started in 1939? (it's world war 2, who doesn't know what it is?)
What is the first day of the week? (sunday)
How many colors are on the UN flag? (2, blue and white)
Name 3 countries who were in the Axis Powers. (Germany, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria)
Name two countries who participated in the Korean War (North Korea, South Korea, United States, China)
How long does it take the Earth to make one revolution around the Sun? (one year, 365 days, 525,948.766 minutes)
Name 3 continents. (North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa)
Name 3 planets in our solar system. (Mercury, Earth, Venus, Neptune, Jupiter, etc)
How many natural satellites does Earth have? (1, the Moon)
etc.
These good?

I feel bad because I missed the answers to many of those questions.

I couldn't answer any of these.

Well to be fair, in US History we're more often taught when the US entered World War 2 than when it started. Since the US wasn't in since the beginning we're usually told more about 1942 as the start for us.
Damn I stopped watching the video after the first minute, the amount of stupidity is too damn high. I'm not even American and I could answer all of them up to the point where I stopped watching :v:
Yup, those questions are great, add any more you can think of :)

I think that we should all do this at our own schools, I really want to try it now.
However, I don't like a few of your questions, and for finding stupid people, they can be pretty difficult.
What is the first day of the week? (sunday)
- This actually changes depending on who you ask and what religion they are.
Name 3 countries who were in the Axis Powers. (Germany, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria)
- People might get confused with Bush's so-called Axis of Evil.
And you other questions are almost a little too specific. They need to be really crazily simple, like the Canada and Mexico one.
to be fair the "what is the capital of x state" is a pretty stupid question and doesn't really judge how smart somebody is
[editline]4th February 2012[/editline]
i guess it means they know some stupid trivia question about a state that really has no impact on anything
