This reminds of that time when I was in a water park in Durban, South Africa and these South African girls in front of me were talking to an English girl who was with them and one of them suddenly said:
I've always wondered, is London in England or is England in London?

What is the first day of the week? (sunday)
In Scandinavia Monday is the first day of the week. So it wouldn't be fair to use this question if you use the same correction form all over the world.
What country starts with the letter 'U'? Europe!
Probably just the school, if you they asked these questions at my school I'm pretty sure most people would get them right.

However, I don't like a few of your questions, and for finding stupid people, they can be pretty difficult. What is the first day of the week? (sunday) - This actually changes depending on who you ask and what religion they are. Name 3 countries who were in the Axis Powers. (Germany, Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria) - People might get confused with Bush's so-called Axis of Evil. And you other questions are almost a little too specific. They need to be really crazily simple, like the Canada and Mexico one.
Well, without the ability to use a specific area for geography I went for the one thing that should be taught worldwide: basic astronomy

Axis powers vs axis of evil im not too worried since I live in Canada and doubt anyone knows about that xD or at least more so than the axis. Which I know a worrying amount of my school doesnt even know the core three.... I would like to ask a question like those borders... But we only border the USA, and is where most of us migrate for the winter soo... Xp
Pretty understandable when you realize they're taught not to learn, but to score well on tests. They're never taught to connect, say, science and history with anything beyond the classroom. That being said, it's interesting to note how he only shows with any regularity around 2-4 students, and even then it's expected he's going to filter out the ones that give a correct answer. After all, no one wants to watch a 4 minute video of people answering simple questions correctly.
Yeah but saying that Europe or Utopia are countries that start with "u" is NOT understandable.
Wow, they should bring back the bad reading rating and call it dyslexic just because of you. Quote me where I said that this wasn't basic knowledge or called them "not stupid." Come on do it. Because I'm pretty sure I was just saying that A big fat ass is being an elitist prick and acting like dumb kids suddenly just appeared in this generation.
Sorry, I actually quoted the wrong thing. I meant
These are questions that generally are completely useless to know... it's not "basic" questions. Like politics

Sorry, I actually quoted the wrong thing. I meant
It's okay, we all make those mistakes.
Not going to lie here - I had no idea Olympia was even a city that existed in Washington, yet alone it's capital :downs: [editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
the video is filmed in Olympia, Washington The capital of Washington They don't know they live in the capital
oh WOW
It takes a great deal of effort on my part to develop inference and connecting ideas instead of just memorizing pointless facts and what are basically labor skills applied to reading books in my high school. All of the focus is on making sure that students can literally become construction workers without too much trouble. Most of the school funds go into vocational ed, with every other department taking massive cuts on a regular basis. [editline]4th February 2012[/editline] The Californian school system blows ass, you just memorize answers to the fabled STAR test and the High School Exit Exam and then you are good.
I facepalmed 182 times, my forehead is now bleeding.
Oh man, my brain hurts, the stupidity!
also I'm a retard and never think of United States when I hear the "U" question
I always think of Ukraine.
I always think America, not United States. It's a stupid fucking trick question, and any other "U" country is an acceptable answer.
I always think of Ukraine.
I always think of Yugoslavia, and then I go "Duh, dumbfuck it starts with a Y"
Kids are pretty dumb these days.
Hello to you too.
I always think America, not United States. It's a stupid fucking trick question, and any other "U" country is an acceptable answer.
I'm the same way, Uzbekistan would probably be my second answer.
I'm the same way, Uzbekistan would probably be my second answer.
Then probably Uruguay.
I always think America, not United States. It's a stupid fucking trick question, and any other "U" country is an acceptable answer.
Of course you could, but you'd look like a moron to the audience. The best response would be to name like three or four in quick succession, with the United States among the answers
Oh man thanks for the video, this is a great self confidence boost
See now, the problem is we are only taught the curriculum, nothing more. And a lot of times, teachers just go too fast through lessons, in an effort to cram it all in for the ~final~.
Reminded me of this
