How can you forget a baby in a car?
exceedingly long work shifts, headaches, tiredness there are a lot of reasons it might happen [editline]23rd June 2016[/editline] judging this man so severely for an accident that could happen to any of us in even the best of cases is saddening. I'm sure he has more than attained the appropriate level of punishment: unending guilt.
why the fuck was he charged for manslaughter lol, do they think he did it on purpose, get real.
You do realize "Manslaughter" is the charge for "accidental homicide" right?
Get tired. Get distracted. Get so use to the child that you forget they are even there (and don't act like your ma never forgot you, when you were a little one, just not on this level) Stupid poor asshole. I feel bad for him, has to live with that for the rest of his life, and his daughters will know their dad killed their baby sister. I mean fuck. I'd just hang myself rather than live with knowing I killed my own little girl.
Suicide would be the worse option because you still have two children to be a father to.
This reminds me of that autopilot story: https://www.reddit.com/r/nosleep/comments/19fmjf/autopilot/ I can't even imagine how it would feel to have this happen.
I think we can determine he probably wasn't the brightest bulb when his first reaction is to put it in the fridge
His logic isn't off though. The First aid measure for head stroke victims is to cool them down ASAP, especially the head. Usually the best way to go about it is cold water, but it's not just something utterly retarded. He even did CPR so its not like he just threw his child in there and forgot about it a second time. He doesn't sound like someone completely incapable and irresponsible, and that's the scary part. There's little suggesting he's not simply just a regular guy. And everyone who can't imagine forgetting their child in their car, just think of the last time you have forgotten something important. The keys to your workplace, your partners birthday, the oven. I'm not defending this guy by saying, sometimes it just happens. That is the most horrifying aspect of a story like that. We'd like to think that the person in this story is a complete moron, but he's just a guy who forgot. Most of the time, we can brush it off as a minor inconvenience but other times the consequences can be horrific and impact the lives and safety of others. Of course a child is a enormous responsibility, possibly the biggest a person can ever have, but even that is not safe from... just forgetting a thing. No person is safe from that error. And it happens, all the time. My parents forgot about things related to me now and then. It was probably only two or three times, but if one of those times had involved something like a hot car, it would have been all it takes for another story like that. I really hope this guy was a colossal idiot, but the scary thing is, he's probably just an average person.
