And as previously noted, the controller will not use the same navigation scheme as traditional track pads. Repeatedly ignoring this isn't a convincing argument that you're not trolling.

I mean, Tesla is making an electric car this is ACTUALLY good despite the problems electric cars have. Samsung are making OLED screens that have capacities and abilities far beyond anything people thought would be real. I have the absolute faith that people who want to create new things will hire the best experts in those fields that they can to make it. Or they wouldn't do it. Where do you get your expertise from?

I see what Valve are trying to do, they're trying to make games that would usually require a KB+M playable with a controller, and it seems like this will do a decent job of that. But this isn't going to work well for any game designed to be played with a traditional controller. I can't see anyone playing a game like Super Meat Boy or Street Fighter 4 on one of these.

But I know full well, a trackpad in a laptop is going to different than a trackpad someone designed especially for a purpose.

This new controller has high precision concave touchpads which fit your thumbs quite nicely, that way making it much like a normal controller just without the sticks and with higher accuracy instead. In any case you probably should hold out on judging it until you try it first.
