BEIJING - A court in southwestern China has sentenced a man to death for a drunken-driving accident that killed four people in what's being called a first for the country. The 30-year-old man was found guilty of endangering public safety and sentenced to death yesterday. He was reportedly drunk and speeding in the capital of Sichuan province last year when he struck four other cars. Four people were killed and another person was seriously injured. He was also driving without a license.
Source I am split on this. He killed four people, but obviously did so without intent. Putting him in jail likely would not do much and he probably has prior arrests. People like him don't change.
Ah, China. The backwards country.
I don't care, that's one less person off their already huge population. [editline]09:43AM[/editline] Actually 5 less people.
I don't care, that's one less person off their already huge population.
Actually five. God damn ninja. D:
Ah, China. The backwards country.
I'd say China is ahead of the USA but okay
Throw his yellow butt in jail, but don't kill him, jeez.

Just because you didn't intend to kill someone with your car while intoxicated, doesn't mean you didn't know the risks of driving drunk. He is stupid, remove him from the gene pool. You can't make up for a mistake that claims an innocent person's life.
Seems quite fair to me. I mean, he did kill four people.
Throw his yellow butt in jail, but don't kill him, jeez.
what the fuck is throwing somebody in jail for something that happened while they were drunk gonna do?
Throw his yellow butt in jail, but don't kill him, jeez.
Yeah, oh my god, how terrible would it be? He only ran down four unsuspecting innocent bystanders.
He did something incredibly stupid, but you shouldn't kill for being incredibly stupid. You shouldn't kill people at all.
how do they drive in asian anyway there eyes are to small (User was banned for this post ("Racist trolling" - verynicelady))
how do they drive in asian anyway there eyes are to small
you never cease to amuse me
Yes of course he should be killed. To make it fair, give the executors some booze. Fair.
That's barbaric to say the least.
Killing an innocent person = barbaric. Killing a person that have caused 4 persons death and 1 with serious injuries = not barbaric. Edit: Can also add. China does something bad = omfg barbarians bithces. USA does something bad = Heroes of universe.
I mean if he was in charge of driving a crane and something happened which caused someone to die by accident. That'd be a risk associated with the job and he shouldn't be sentanced for that as he was just doing his job and also, accidents happen. Driving drunk is illegal and fucking stupid as you aren't in the right state of mind to be behind the wheel of a multi-ton motor. He shouldn't have done it, people died, now he pays the price.
rink riving
Yeah, oh my god, how terrible would it be? He only ran down four unsuspecting innocent bystanders.
...on accident while helplesly intoxicated

If China did it, it's just 'cause they're savages over there. [editline]06:36AM[/editline]
...on accident while helplesly intoxicated
That was not an accident. Dropping the soap and slipping on it in the shower is an accident. Getting drunk, then deciding to drive, knowing full well you're in no shape to be operating a vehicle, is murder. He was hardly helpless. You're helpless when you pass out on the floor, not when you're able to walk to your car, get in, start it and drive away. I would compare this to leaving a gas line open all night in a factory or something, on purpose, so that when someone turns on a lightswitch in the morning, the entire place blows sky high. Highly appropriate in this case.

The U.S get shit all the time for having the death penalty active in most states. Besides for the fact that what you posted has no relevance to the topic at hand.
Looks like he needs a drink. :c00l:
You're trying too hard.
Seems quite fair to me. I mean, he did kill four people.
Yes but to be really fair, we'd need to kill him four times. Or else make it four times as painful. Sure, an eye for an eye; but what if the person runs out of eyes?
Holy shit guys do we have to bring the evil U.S into everything that has nothing to do with them.
The U.S. is all up in the world's face and wants to police it, so yes.
The U.S. is all up in the world's face and wants to police it, so yes.
This topic at hand has zero U.S involvement.
This topic at hand has zero U.S involvement.
China is part of the world and the U.S. wants to police the world therefore the U.S. is involved.
Second offense should be permanent license removal in the U.S., right now it's practically a slap on the hand.
