No shit, genius. People do that every day.
Dance around my obvious point by trying to be witty.
Did anyone catch the fact he killed four people?
People seemed bias just because it happened in China, and automatically scream "Oppression!".
Maybe if people started treating drunk driving like murder, they'd begin to understand that it's an extremely stupid danger to this world because you're too much of an ass to call a cab or friend. Drunk driving isn't something you just slap someone on the wrist for, especially in the case of it killing 4 people. That's something I think our country does wrong, not that I support the death penalty for anything but that's a cultural difference I won't get into.

Thank you.
He's being made an example.
G.a.d.d.
I don't think anybody has the right to determine if somebody else deserves to live or die since we're all equal

He said he doesn't support the death penalty.
...on accident while helplesly intoxicated
he accidentally fell into the car and accidentally started it and accidentally put his foot on the pedal
ok sure
manslaughter is rarely true manslaughter
No shit, genius. People do that every day.
drove drunk on purpose
genius
what the fuck is throwing somebody in jail for something that happened while they were drunk gonna do?
They don't serve alchohol or give you the keys to a car in jail, so it at least keeps him from doing it again.
Replace car in the news story with weapon of choice, or object of enormous mass (ie. gun)
Death sentence or a pat on the head and a promise that you'll never do that again :3 ?
I'm all for the death penalty. A few barbaric acts here and there never hurt anybody (OH SHIT OPINIONS)
He so ronery

He killed four people . . .
If you kill somoene whether accidental or not, your life should be forfeit upon the discretion of the family(or families) of the person you took the life of.
"An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind." - Mahatma Gandhi
He killed four people, and if he hadn't drank and drove he could have prevented it.
People who would kill a human being for killing another have fooled themselves into believing that they care about human lives. I think that if you actually cared, you would rather have 4 dead than 5.
I am absolutely, 100%, against the death penalty. For any reason.
I understand you are angry that these people died. But do you understand that this man, a living, breathing HUMAN BEING, a person with friends, family, a job, hobbies; a person who has experienced and still could experience happiness, sadness, anger, and love, is now going to be ended ON PURPOSE. Would you think it was "justice" if that was you?
Would you think it was fair as they put a needle into you and you realized that all the years left were now to be wasted completely? That everything you loved was about to come to an end for no reason other than archaic justifications?
There's no such thing as wrong and right, other than on an individual basis. The law is here to protect ALL it's citizens, even it's "criminals"; not to enforce some small minded, almost religious idea of "morality". I accept that some sacrifices must be made to retain order, but this is a mindless, stupid waste, and anyone who supports it is acting on emotion, not logic.
inb4 "Those four people had lives too". That makes absolutely no difference, you can do human "math" like that. Killing this man doesn't save those other people, it doesn't even effectively stop others.
Communism getting worse in china.

If you're going to act purely on logic, then, Death Penalty:
-Man can never hurt anyone with his poor-judgment again.
-China's taxes aren't spent supporting this man for the rest of his life.
You're basing it on morals just as much as anyone: Every life is sacred, and feel empathy for this man.
Good, about time one of those drunk drivers got what he deserved
If they kept him in prison, he'd have to wake up every day remembering that he's there because he killed 4 people.
That's mental torture. That's worse than death.

You are dumb. It was not an accident.
Oops, I pushed a dresser off my balconey on purpose, without looking, and killed two people. But it's okay, it was an accident, my bad. ;)

Or he may not give a shit, since he obviously didn't give enough of a shit to think driving while hammered wasn't a good idea.
This just in : China bans alcohol and cars

Oh yeah, I realise he can experience happiness and love, unlike the four people he brutally slaughtered. And yes, I would think it is just and right if they were lethally injecting me. I would like to kill myself however, as I just couldn't bear to experience all the things they never will after I took it from them.
And how doesn't it stop others? I'd say death penalty for drunk driving murder is a pretty heavy deterrent for the future.

Exactly. That's exactly how it is, or at least should be.
I don't think anybody has the right to determine if somebody else deserves to live or die since we're all equal
You know that is bullshit. If I remember right. Black people can not be called niggers or else its racism, but calling a white person a cracker is ok. I see some special treatment for black people here?????
I wish people would stop stealing my joke.
But it's funny
But it's funny
Lol, I know. At least yours was somewhat tasteful and relevant to the topic at hand and not just a cheap way to get funnies.
If you kill somoene whether accidental or not, your life should be forfeit upon the discretion of the family(or families) of the person you took the life of.
That is really stupid. What if the person who accidently killed someone because he overcorrected after driving off the road by accident just happened to be black and the family just happened to be racist? What if they were just dicks or were biased, like most would be, because it was one of their family members? How can you call drunk driving an accident anyway? Sure he was drunk but you still have enough sense to know that driving would be stupid.
A lot of people may say its justified, but if you were in his situation, you would definitely change your stance.
