nah dawg this is just holding the new president to all the same standards we held the old presidents to.
"New" fucking standards are when fox news or whatever jerked off over what mustard Obama uses or whatever the hell the first few months since his inauguration was for conservative media. This is just being concerned about possible conflicts of interest, jeez.

"not being a fucking manchild" is hardly some new edgy standard people are trying to stump the trump with, it's a perfectly reasonable expectation of the man who will lead one of the world's superpowers
I'm pretty sure that I've always wanted the U.S. President to not behave like President Camacho.
don't insult camacho's good name by comparing him to the peeled tangerine
I don't understand, why would you do this? It seems like such a huge risk of getting exposed for no gain. Imagine being whoever has to remove the piles of paper afterwards, knowing that the public was blatantly lied to. How beautiful wouldn't it have been if some of them fell on the floor during the conference...
How can anyone be perfectly fine with President Elect endorsing someone and their business because they donated to him?
How can you defend that? How can you live with yourself while looking at this blatant cronyism and saying "this is perfectly fine"?!
Wake the hell up, the world is already completely fucked because of corporations manipulating governments and now America elected a President who's not even fucking afraid to admit that he will be their puppet.
speaking as a legal clerk I can tell you pretty confidently that one of two things must be true
Either
a) those are blank pages
Or
b) the attorneys that Trump has retained are at the neatest law firm in existence
There is no pagination (which would be at one of the right corners), no labeling on the exterior of the folders (all of which are the same color, lol), no tabs, no sign here's, no stickies, no rubber bands, binder clips or paper clips, nothing.
It would be a nightmare for those to be working documents
I like how we're wise to the fact that Trump uses dumb tweets to deflect attention away from his actual massive fuckups, yet we still manage to have our threads get derailed by people arguing about the nuances of his latest unrelated tweet.

Everyone who's not blindly buying into his bullshit knew that he has no actual plan of action for his presidency.
The tweet in question is just a perfect example of what said presidency will look like. Being a crony to the highest bidder.
Binders full plans.
I don't think this really matters.. its just a demonstration prop of just how big a management shake up the Trump org. will get.
I don't think this really matters.. its just a demonstration prop of just how big a management shake up the Trump org. will get.
If it was just a demonstration or illustration why not say so?
If it was just a demonstration or illustration why not say so?
I personally didn't think they were legit documents.
when trump asked for a printout of all his plans he wasn't expecting the staffers to be literal
The President-elect claimed that the documents, which were placed next to him as he spoke, were evidence of the preparations he had made to give over control of his businesses to his sons.
it is just a demonstration, but it wasn't intended to be, as per the president elect's own statements. the dishonesty is palpable, and the worries are reasonable IMO
It's late so I might be stupid but might this just be the backs of the papers? Maybe they just printed them all out just now so they look quite new. Wouldn't be surprised if they were blank, though...

No legal documents are ever this organized and neatly stacked.
Knowing Trump instead of legal documents, it is probably literal binders of women.
No legal documents are ever this organized and neatly stacked.
Fuck, no binder of anything would look that pristine. I've written reports just over 100 pages total (team effort wooo). And when trying to bind the bastard thing, no matter what we tried it wasn't ever perfect. Tiny bits of dog-earing, pages not being aligned perfectly, etc.
Moving paper around tends to mess it up hard. And you have to question why he or his staffers felt the need to "show" the public he was "doing stuff" by placing that there? It wasn't going to be read, it wasn't going to be talked about. It was just there to promote the image of him actually being a functional person. It served no purpose during the press conference.
This just once again shows how trump is a poor man's idea of a rich successful man. Manilla folders just brimming with 'business plans' just screams like it's all an act. It's like bojack horseman that vincent adultman is a child pretending to be an adult saying he "goes to the business factory to make business."
Some people actually got some leaks on his business plan. Here's one of the pages further in it.
~NOT COOL~
thanks now garry is going to be under investigation because of you
While I agree the paper does look odd and out of place, that would be some hilariously low-quality evidence to throw something like this out over IMO.
I'm so ashamed to be an American at this point.
I was looking for some extra images of the folders and came across this in the Twitter chain
I had no idea this was a thing that happened, and it's definitely not helping with the whole 'fake folders for show' impression

Trump supporters: See, hes a great businessman!
Rational people: Dude is feeding everyone lies

I have to know how you manage to maintain that level of complacency, because damn if I need some of it myself every time I make the mistake of reading Trump-related threads. This is the first post-election press conference and the man hauls literal props on the stage to show as "evidence" of his competence. This is a Potemkin village for the voting public and in your opinion it's just business as usual. How can you just keep calm and carry on in the midst of this farce?

I don't want to derail the thread with this, but so far the best evidence I've seen to back up this claim is a photo that looks a little strange, a tweet, and a few dozen folks who immediately accept as fact a speculative article. These just don't come off as particularly convincing, esp. once I see CNN's logo floating around. There's an organization that has every reason to make shit up to discredit Trump.
These things combined make me think I should probably take this "news" with a few grains of salt.

Did you check Sitkero's link? Cause it really reinforces the notion that Trump is literally propping his successes. Check if you see anything particularly suspicious here. Incidentally not from "fake news" CNN. Here it is again: http://www.npr.org/2016/03/09/469775355/trump-doesnt-own-most-of-the-products-he-pitched-last-night

It's all very well to take things with a grain of salt but CNN aren't the only ones to have commented on his piles of questionable folders and seriously, they weren't exactly hidden from view during the conference itself

They're not looking much more authentic here either
I know that there's a lot of paperwork involved in business but that pile looks comically huge. Like the only way they think people will believe them is if its a mountain of pages.
