One-third of Valve is currently working on Virtual Reality

you all fail to realize that source 2 will be the best engine since it will be the first engine to directly implement hats
but it all seriousness, the one thing i am excited about with source 2 is its coming physics engine, which will be made by vale themselves (where as source 1 used havoks physics engine, it wasnt made fully in house)

Source originally used Ipion Virtual Physics, then ~2002 Valve switched to VPhysics, which is their own in-house physics engine based on Havok 2 (Which was based on Havok 1 which was made with the technology Havok bought from Ipion Virtual Physics)
Kind of a colorful history.
VR will actually be even worse for motion sickness, since you don't have any reference points.
I've used VR and it causes even less motion sickness than looking at a monitor. So no it don't.

What if team fortress 3 could let your character wear a 3D render of the hat you're wearing on your head using your VR cams as reference points
Desperate.
Hey, I think that all of the people that are quick to confirm Half-Life 3 are retarded, but the people who are quick to disconfirm Half-Life 3 and suggest it's never going to happen are equally as retarded. Both sides are desperate, with the pessimists being desperate in their defense mechanisms over what might be something. The possibility is too much for their fragile beings, and so instead of being like someone like me and not giving a fuck, they spend their time suggesting that Valve could never want to work on HL3 nor would they ever be able to. It's its own conspiracy theory in the opposite direction.
It genuinely confuses me that people think Valve employees just sit around doing nothing all day. Why would any company keep hundreds of employees on their payroll and pay for extensive benefits if they aren't doing anything? They could just consolidate them down to in the necessary few and have far more to go around.
The prods and jokes about how Valve would just push a button to make another update with more TF2 hats somehow turned into what people actually saw them as doing--because that's all they could see them doing. Out of sight, out of mind: If people can't see Valve doing something, then it's easy to forget they're doing anything at all. That's what I figure most of the 'leaks' are: just little signs from the employees showing that they are in fact doing something and want to see the response, but aren't yet willing to fully commit to announcing it.
Valve knows and has acknowledged that if they did announce everything they were doing, the community would trip all over itself with how frequently things get changed up.
Valve should listen to Koonoo.
I haven't liked valve in a long time. They've stopped doing anything remotely interesting in years.
Yeah I lost interest a long time ago. Being Valve I kind of hoped that they'd make something amazing over the years but they have done nothing of the sort. SteamOS and the hardware they were working on was kind of cool but what about making games? Sure they're keeping DOTA2, TF2, and CSGO up to date but in reality it's the community that's doing most of the work. Where's the new cool groundbreaking shit? I'm not really hopeful for a Half-Life sequel but fuck a new IP or ANYTHING would be nice.

Jesus Christ, guy, again, we had a 2 page argument about this.
