I hate it when my mom calls me on her att phone I just can't understand what she is saying
All carriers suck. They're all overly priced pretentious fucks who love the word fee
Can't wait till my AT&T cell plan ends, once that happens I'll be fucking done with this shit company. My phone lines are still out AT&T, stop fucking sitting on your asses and help out.
Sprint Master Race! And It works here, it rarely goes out
all i use my phone for is texting and talking. I dont need no shitty internet that i can barely see and have to zoom in a bunch. theres a reason i have internet on my PC
Didn't we all know this? [editline]1[/editline] Also fun fact, my dad's friend was responsible for a cellular blackout in DC, causing Dick Cheney to not be able to use his blackberry. He got a personal complaint.
Everyone shut the fuck up. I want to hear this story.
Bell Canada is actually the absolute worst service you can get.
AT&T U-Verse VDSL is sadly, the only decently priced internet in my area (East bay area, CA) I WANT SONIC.NET SO BAD HNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG Also AT&T wireless is okay here, but the reception just disappears in a lot of places.
;32030152']Everyone shut the fuck up. I want to hear this story.
My Dad's friend works for a company that provides data centers for AT&T, and he does experimentation on the networks to optimize data transfers and whatnot. One day he fucked something up, and boom went DC. :v:
I agree with them, my service has been down for 8 hours today and counting.
why does everybody hate at&t? only problems I've ever had is how they don't want you getting third party apps and they don't have an unlimited internet plan, what makes them so awful
why does everybody hate at&t? only problems I've ever had is how they don't want you getting third party apps and they don't have an unlimited internet plan, what makes them so awful
i have verizon for cellphone but att for internet the speen varies wildly, often falling below advertised speeds which results in ttt bbb being a laggy mess and when the internet stops working for 10 minutes at a time (about 5-10 times a day), they make me restart my computer this never happened with time warner
i want verizon fios :(
at&t home internet sucks cocks
Actually, Uverse is pretty nice. But I still plan to switch to Fios. I would switch off of AT&T as a carrier too, but I'm stuck in a damned contract.
why does everybody hate at&t? only problems I've ever had is how they don't want you getting third party apps and they don't have an unlimited internet plan, what makes them so awful
Both of those aren't as big a deal anymore, but it's just the general lack of coverage, shitty backhaul causing bad internet speeds, general underbuilding leading to overloading of cell towers with said shitty backhaul, and the fact that they haven't done massive building of LTE towers when they have the money. All of this for a price that rivals Verizon. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline]
Actually, Uverse is pretty nice.
But guess what, since it's cheaper people are more willing to buy, why do you think AT&T is so fucking massive right now?
It's cheaper yep, but the only reason why AT&T hasn't been torn to bits yet is because the DOJ changed since the last time they got broken up. See: Citizens United
Tmobile is the best. I love verizon mainly because I use 40-50gb a month on my phone's 3g and they don't cap me. However Tmobile has a much faster speed and better coverage(atleast for my area)
How the fuck do you use 40-50 gigs a month? Is your phone bill astronomical?
My family has been with AT&T for so long, they treat us like gold. If we just complain a lil' they fix the problem, and our bill isn't that bad, but the downside is my town is a verizon town, and AT&T doesn't have much signal out in the woods, but enough not to complain.
AT&T's too busy spending money on their galactic conquest operations centre. [img_thumb]http://blog.digitalcontentproducer.com/briefingroom/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/attglobal-noc_040-rightlow.jpg[/img_thumb] AT&T makes this country's internet look good. How does AT&T still manage to compete when Verizon's FiOS is available and there's some decent cable offerings? And why are their broadband offerings all such low speeds?
Admittedly one of the few things AT&T does right is not severely fucking over long-term customers, ahem Comcast. [editline]31st August 2011[/editline] AT&T U-Verse offers a theoretical max of something like 24/1.5, but even when it's a FTTH install they still don't up the speed.
I have Verizon and being a college student I didn't want to pay a lot for data TBH I'm having trouble going over 1GB of my 2GB with plenty of internet usage.
Would say Verizon Master Race here, but they won't let me get a phone. Plan is too old (cheap and good). Won't let us get a new plan (expensive and crap) cause existing phones are too old and no one wants to switch. Other companies are practically nonexistent due to their spotty coverage in my area.

I used MetroPCS for awhile and now I have Verizon. Verizon kind of pisses me off. Me and my mom got the unlimited plan which I don't remember how much it costs, but it's around $100 I think. And the month we signed up and got billed, it was over $300 thanks to extra costs and shit like having 3G and stuff. We called and got it fixed. Not really sure how much it is now, I just give $80 to my mom and she handles it.
How the fuck do you use 40-50 gigs a month? Is your phone bill astronomical?
No, its always 90$ regardless if I use 1g or 40g. And I use so much data because I tether my phone to my PC and use the 3g as "free" internet. If you use verizon's mobile connect they charge something fucking outrageous like 20$ per 2gigs.
Not sure they do FTTH since VDSL is a technology for phone lines.
At some point they will replace the copper from the node to the home with fiber.
i have verizon for cellphone but att for internet the speen varies wildly, often falling below advertised speeds which results in ttt bbb being a laggy mess and when the internet stops working for 10 minutes at a time (about 5-10 times a day), they make me restart my computer this never happened with time warner
oh, I only have att for my cellphone, I have time warner cable and honestly it's the shittiest internet I have ever used apparently it's only my computer but for the past few months I get about 80 kbs when I'm lucky and 3 on average, internet goes offline for days at a time with no fix, etc
At some point they will replace the copper from the node to the home with fiber.
Yeah but then it's no longer VDSL and the VDSL theoretical max doesn't come into play anywhere. Have they done any FTTH stuff at all yet?
