I don't know about you but I don't see anyone praying in the middle of the line at the bank or whatever. Also, it's five times a day for sunnis, three for shia. Also, not north, towards Kaaba. ALSO, it only takes about 3-5 minutes, depending on which prayer it is.

Also, there are over a million Muslims in France, highly doubt you could fit them all in one dudes house.

They make a big deal over this? France is a big country compare to my nation of Singapore. In Singapore,it is illegal to pray on the roadside as it cause obstruction. I understand if the French did this for safety reason. I myself will not pray on the roadside.This is why you go to the mosque early for Friday prayers to avoid the crowds Pius either make the mosque bigger or come to the mosque earlier to avoid prayer outside.
