Well murder is not allowed but killing is, back during the time of the prophet, the non belivers had to convert or pay a rent (a small one) or die (in a war) also they would not kill women and kids.

There are five calls to prayer a day. One before sunrise, one in the noon, one in the afternoon, one at sundown and finally one at night. You don't have to 'stop what you're doing', you just have to make sure the prayer has been completed before the subsequent call for the following prayer. Also, it is preferred to be in a clean place (We usually just buy prayer mats). You can pray all of them are home, although in congregation is 'better' by choice; however the Friday noon prayer has to be prayed in a group.

It gives them the official right to worship whatever they want, eat pork, drink alcohol, whatever. It's just to find a common ground to welcome people of open faiths; only asking that they respect the religion of the people they're surrounded in. Killing was only ever allowed in self defense.

From that point, terrorists' thought goes something like this : Allah is offering freedom, thus as followers of Allah we are for this freedom, thus people who don't agree with us are against freedom, thus we must declare war on these people for the sake of freedom. That's a pretty stupid way to think, but that's how they do.
