Of course there are, but go ahead and stop the looters during a manifestation that somewhat turned into a riot. Much easier to at least recognize them if they don't wear balaclavas or else.
How would having burqas or having people stop on the sidewalk to pray incite a riot?
how do you guys even know what the french currency is?? you must live there!!
i have secretly been french this whole time thats how i know so much about the french revolution
North Korea, China, Russia, Israel and Palestine aren't democracies.
So then I can't understand Norway, Britain, Sweden, or Spain?

better yet please find one example of a riot consisting of burqa'd women.
or even a riot with just one burqa'd woman acting even mildly disobedient.

I said the law wasn't about burqas but about shit hiding your face. In your picture I can see quite a lot of people having hoodies, one of them even has something wrapped around his mouth, putting on the hood he has would basically make him unrecognizable. The guy with a red hoodie in the background also has his face covered enough not to be recognizable.
As for the people stopping on the sidewalk to pray, they are annoying because they're stopping on the sidewalk to pray. Do you imagine having to avoid a crowd of 40 guys every friday stopping in the middle of the street to pray, not because it's their culture that says so, but because they have no place to actually pray normally ?

so hoodies and toques are illegal, then
you will be arrested if you wear a hoodie.

Oh, well if they're annoying.
I said the law wasn't about burqas
the french lawmakers disagree.
As for the people stopping on the sidewalk to pray, they are annoying because they're stopping on the sidewalk to pray.
yeah and dogs are annoying to me as well. i'm not gonna support banning them though.

Aren't you that guy saying we need to remove anyone who burns flags or disagrees with us

Good job missing the point entirely. I'm saying if you already have laws against disrupting traffic/commerce, why do you need a specific law for Muslim prayer?
oh okay so you're supposed to ride your motorcycle in private?
You're supposed to wear a motorcycle helmet when riding a motorcycle.
If you stopped being such a smartass and actually read things people write you wouldn't sound like a troll.
Aren't you that guy saying we need to remove anyone who burns flags or disagrees with us
He says they should be deported, yeah.

And if you continue to wear it when you get off, that should be a crime?
Whats wrong with praying in the streets?
You're supposed to wear a motorcycle helmet when riding a motorcycle.
in public, right?
Whats wrong with praying in the streets?
It annoys people!!!!
Aren't you that guy saying we need to remove anyone who burns flags or disagrees with us
That's him.
Did he report me for trolling, Mo?
Please tell me he reported me. I don't want to think he went through the trouble of spamming "lankist is a troll" without reporting me. Then I would think it was just a poor defense mechanism.
Good job missing the point entirely. I'm saying if you already have laws against disrupting traffic/commerce, why do you need a specific law for Muslim prayer?
I didn't say that, learn to read, I said the law about BURQAS is also to avoid making riots easier and more chaotic.
The Muslim Prayer law was voted because they're not supposed to pray in the middle of the sidewalk. They are supposed to pray in Mosques, mosques that the government is providing them.
Isn't it already illegal to just sit in the middle of the road anyway? I'm sure there's something they could have ticked people for beforehand without blanket-banning Muslim prayer.

Hey dude I'm sure you just missed this question you ignored:
So does the law specifically state MUSLIMS can't pray in the street, or at very least is specific enough to incriminate only Muslims?
Or does it say "Nobody can conduct themselves in any manner of prayer in the street?"
You're acting like an expert so I'm presuming you have read the text of the legislation in question.
You are clearly an expert on this legislation. Can you reference the text of it here? I'd like to know what the law actually says.

now suddenly it's "also"
so now you do admit that the main reason was anti-islamic sentiment?
I didn't say that, learn to read, I said the law about BURQAS is also to avoid making riots easier and more chaotic.
So all hats, ski masks, and hoodies should be illegal as well?

Again, great job missing the point. If you already have laws preventing people from disrupting traffic and pedestrians on the sidewalk, why do you need a law specifically for Muslim prayer?

not seeing any safety issues here.

Shit's going quite fast on the thread.
The law says no "street prayer" is authorized. There is no specification what religion you are following, what are you reasons to pray or whatever else. If you start praying on the street, you have to go pray somewhere else.
This
So arrest them for bringing traffic to a halt, not because they're praying.
