I like how Valve are slow at everything they do, by which I mean I fucking hate it and after Half Life concludes I couldn't care less what they do, it's not like people haven't been saying for years that this episodic shit is a waste of time and don't give me some bullshit excuse as to why Valve are so slow, if they bothered to release stuff at a decent pace they could afford to hire more staff or even better if they scrapped making a Warcraft 3 mod they could pool more resources together to actually get stuff made.
What if they come up with shit that's more awesome than Warcrafts and Half-Lives put together? Would you not care about them then?
I like how even when proven wrong a lot of shitposters still say "fucking hats :arghfist::downs:"
did they go through a massive upsizing that was neither spoken of nor published? no? then stop pulling shit out of your ass
I didn't say at any point in time relative to this conversation anything about additional upsizing; so maybe you should stop pulling shit out of your ass and sticking it in your eyes and mouth, so you'll be able to comprehend and speak properly. I said they aren't the same company they used to be, and in point of fact, that has been directly confirmed by one of the guys in charge of company's future growth direction. Second, they've already released two products (l4d1/2) that received a pretty good chunk of end user criticism for being half finished on their own forums, which ironically enough, violated their own self appointed "episodic content" policy. Instead of considering to start shaping up these SKUs in accordance with their own policy, they moved on to other things. Whether you like it or not isn't even really germane to the conversation, and you might perhaps see that if you'd quit covering your eyes with the shit-covered foot that's jammed in your mouth. In conclusion, they are vastly larger than they used to be, and have very different concerns than they used to, and the ramifications to those changes to address those concerns will be forthcoming, and their traditional consumers may not be particularly happy about those changes. Which, incidentally you have yet to posit anything relevant on.
I hate how everyone assumes that anyone who quit TF2 did so because they hate hats. The game bores me and I don't feel like wasting my time on a boring game to get new items that I may or may not like.
Wait...apply a multiplayer only game strategy to a singleplayer only game. How does that work exactly?
In regards to where I want them to go with Portal 2, NOT ANOTHER MANN CO STORE! Christ, why can't they be happy with the money they get from the actaul game. Not even like hats or weapons are all that cheap either, considering what they are.
Half-life 3 probably
Yeah, Half-Life 3: Part 1: Chapter 1 [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
I don't see where you got that idea from. Honestly.
No, he's right. There won't be an Episode 3, and you can come back to this thread a year from now when we know for sure to quote me on it.

Half Life 3: Hats Life 3
As I've been saying for so long now, episodic content is just pure shit and Valve simply would not continue with it for Half-Life 3. This just confirms it... The only reason I suspect Gabe's come and stated all this now is that they've either reached a significant milestone in the production of their next non-episodic title (be that Half-Life 3 or something entirely different) or they've just devoted the necessary resources to get the job done the 'Old Fashioned Way™'. Looking forward to an announcement on something from Valve in the very near future, personally.
