Also I'm not by any means a medical professional but that wikipedia article says it's never been tested on humans, except once on accident when they contaminated an apartment complex with Cobalt-60. Not exactly a controlled environment and i wouldn't be the first person to volunteer, lol.

Clearly the doses that'd leak in a nuclear accident are much higher and more unpredictable than what would be beneficial so yeah it's not exactly applicable.
