The devs are now removing all posts regarding copyright/un-credited artists on the basis that the game is in early access so it's okay for them to sell the game with un-credited work.

This is their reasoning apprently.
Oh wow, the devs are total idiots about copyright law.
This is enough to land Valve in hot water too so they have to take it off of Steam once they hear about it.

And defamation law too, if it's true it's not defamation.

didn't 7 days to die or something like that get removed not too long ago for using a model from killing floor?

It was temporarily taken off sale, but it's settled now.
They used a model from Killing Floor which somebody had illegally put onto the Unity store without even knowing it.

And reinstantiated. (It wasn't the devs fault it was stolen, but they didn't edit it out and the original dev only used this as last resort action.)
Earth: Year 2066 was removed for being a total lie though.
I'm not sure whether what's happening here is enough for Valve to take action since they are pretty lax about stuff, but if the dev can't act professionally it hurts the store's image so they may decide it's not a good fit to work with them.

I like the idea that you can test unfinished games through early access programs. I hate fact though that it's being horribly abused as a business model by certain people.
tbh, every early access game should also have an "opt out" option, so that everyone may leave a sinking ship. Like, the players get early access game, the developers gets early access money. Shit hits the fan?
Players leave without game, developers leave without money. Seems quite fair.

Would be very expensive for Valve though if they gave cash back (because of payment provider fees).
They'd either have to reduce it by that amount or give store credits. Not drawing in the money immediately would be pretty risky, unless they can use a payment provider that would carry the risk.
A compromise could be requiring credit card payments and only drawing in the money after a day or so, but that's not fair towards buyers or Valve if the dev screws up badly.

deleting the threads is waving a flag that you're hiding shit. He should have called people out on the threads and proved his innocence if it's 'defamation' and they're wrong
situations like this make me wary of kickstarting/greenlighting things, but I've had some theories on how the processes can be saved which are already in effect elsewhere.

Isn't really fair because of the fact that people would play the game and opt out to save money.
I do agree that what some of these devs do is not fair but that is not fair too.

Only people who want to buy a game - buy it, not have it - will be able to get it without drama in any case.
Making people pay for something that doesn't exist (yet) is one of the more brilliant ideas people had. That this case here is not outlawed yet is maybe also saying something about the society we live in, since in the past something like this was not always permitted.
Oh man, I knew this would happen. Both of the devs are pretty bad.
This one is a huge lying cunt while the other one(SpooderW/Mike) promises way too much.
I've watched a lot of Spooder's streams and he said few times that he wanted to continue working on the game.
Few months ago he also mentioned that Vallisca(with him on stream) wanted to wrap it up and call it feature complete(with that said I expected that the next content update will probably be the last), but because of Spooder it wasn't.
Considering Vallisca said in the time of the greenlight incident that he wanted to work on the game a lot more, but can't without being on steam because of money and there was also a successful kickstarter for more updates which ultimatively ended with only 1 UPDATE(power ups update) before he gave up, it says a lot what kind of person he is. Scum
My guess is that Spooder just went with it when he realized how badly Vallisca wants to end it. That also explains why he made the steam post and not the main dude of PA, Spooder.
Tl;dr they were promising updates with kickstarter and when they get greenlit, it ended with 2 content updates before calling it a finished product
Apparently this is what set off Vallisca.

Well that is a shitty "article" in the first place
Early access has helped so few for the many it has hurt. Kill the beast while we still can I say. All the games that succeeded because of early access would have been made regardless of funding, because the devs are damn dedicated. The ones that wouldn't well, fuck em, they're going to churn out shit anyway. Financial motivation only goes so far once you have the dosh in pocket.
I for one blame Minecraft for making early access so popular.
It's not Minecraft's fault, it the consumers.
If you were building a house would you pay the contractor full price when he builds the foundations or when he finishes the house ? Early access is a phenomenon of consumers ignorance.

Looks like a couple greater than signs short of a /v/ post.
I can only count a handful of games which really made great use of the Early Access model. Games like Space Engineers, Supreme Commander and Starbound did really good from it.
Although Space Engineers is the only one that didn't had a kickstarter as well.
added 25 new items
added powerups
added superweapons
?????
How fucking dumb do you have to be to lie like that holy shit
And let's not forget that this game was/is still in development so it should've gotten updates anyway.
Actually they are in the process of making the final update. It'll have a snail boss or some shit. No idea what else.
I'm not even upset about coop anymore. Im more upset that they stole work from others. They are completely ignoring it. I hope steam catches on about this.

lol a fucking sound file from a royalty free site, get over it.

space engineers does it really well because the updates are often enough to keep me opening the game every other week which is fantastic.
The game's a good time waster, but it's has a few bugs and some things just aren't balanced. Looks like that will likely never change.
lol a fucking sound file from a royalty free site, get over it.
Most of the sounds he got stated you need to credit the artist in what ever you use. One of the files he used wasn't allowed to be used in commercial products.
its ok, game looks shit anyways
but what more do you expect with early access?
I really think the art/art style doesn't fit the game.

Seeing as my brother picked this up during the Steam Christmas sale, I have never seen that. Seems a bit shady that Oculus Rift support had a lower target than multiplayer. Wouldn't Rift support actually be the harder of the 2 to implement?

Nuclear Throne does it amazingly.

They probably knew that games like this are in high demand as multiplayer right now.
Hell, any game offering multiplayer is huge right now. Thus their reasoning for putting it so high up on that chart. Easy way (or so they for some reason thought) to get that high goal, thinking people will keep shoveling out cash their way to get to that multiplayer mark.
