Have fun washing my windows again.
why do hurricanes always have girls names
why do hurricanes always have girls names
Crazy whirling frenzies that can't be reasoned with.
why do hurricanes always have girls names
nature is on it's period?
This storm could potentially produce just as much rainfall as Katrina did (15 inches max in Louisiana). If the new levies and pump systems they put in place hold up then it should be a bit of a non-issue, but if it breaches in just one place the town will look like it did after Katrina. They built a huge sea-wall but that only helps against storm surges and will be irrelevant here. I don't think the pumps will be able to keep up with the rain fall so I'm willing to bet parts of the city and area are going to flood regardless. But look on the bright side, that nasty marsh fire will probably be put out.
Chocked on my drink when I read that first sentence, tell me this isn't true
On the positive side, parts of Texas that are currently in a terrible drought might get some rain out of it.
Man fuck hurricanes. Irene sucked, I lost power for 5 days. There are still some in around my area that are without it...
Am I safe in Boston?
Chocked on my drink when I read that first sentence, tell me this isn't true
Guy on the news was saying it might produce 20 inches of rain. Better get your waterwings on, New Orleans.
why do hurricanes always have girls names
They don't- They alternate. Ike, Bob (retired names) etc. 1 girl 1 guy 1 girl 1 guy. Just coincidence that the hurricanes making note are currently girl names.
Too far out to tell where it's going.
What is up with people naming Hurricanes? We never named earthquakes OR tsunamis a HUMAN name. Why must they name the hurricane. Can't they just called it the September 2011 Typhoon? we should only called the disaster by it's date, location and duration, not by a name of a person

There can be multiple hurricanes in different places on the same day. It's easier to just go, "Hurricane bob is going to hit the coast on tuesday while hurricane claire dicks around in the Atlantic for a bit longer. Tropical storms Denis, Elle, and Fabio are getting stronger." If you didn't name them, it would be a lot harder to talk about all of them. This has just been a particularly slow year. A few years back we went through all the letters of the alphabet and started to name them off the greek alphabet. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta... [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] And Earthquakes and Tsunamis are unpredictable so there would be no need to name it something.
http://www.nj.com/weather-guy/index.ssf/2011/09/hurricane_katia_no_longer_a_th.html According to the Google Map picture, it looks like both storms might not be a problem for the Northeast. Katia is suppose to hook around, apparently, and Lee will probably lose its power over land. That said, Lee could still bring flooding.
I'd like to see a tropical storm Fabio.

Piss cold winters or hurricanes? Can't we switch once? We in sweden get good hot weather and hurricanes you guys get a piss cold winter.
Lee's going to be a problem for New Orleans.
It will, but it might spare some of the Northeast.
Looks like it won't fuck with Florida, which is cool. Hope everyone else will be alright.
Lee's bout to hit. Meanwhile, in the drought stricken south:

All hail OvB, king of the sciences
So an Earthquake, then a Hurricane, then another Hurricane? What did we do to piss of Nature?
too many gas emissions from nyc
Woah, it looks like Katia is heading straight for Maryland. It's probably going to go a little more north, though,
Woah, it looks like Katia is heading straight for Maryland. It's probably going to go a little more north, though,
We have no clue where it's going, only making assumptions is just going to make people panic.
Surprised Florida hasn't been hit yet, come on and hit us already. Fight like a real Hurricane.
It's on Bitch, I hooked my fridge up to a generator this time around. Also fun fact: my Mothers first name is Katrina.
It's nobody's fault there's a hurricane. why don't everyone built a concrete building. Hurricane can't uproot a concrete structure
it still hasn't rained at northern Louisiana. i think. I need to go outside more often.
We're ready in Arkansas!
