She didn't want to understand the gender neutral bathroom and I totally understand why girls would feel uncomfortable with her entering a girls bathroom. Yes, she may think she's a girl but in the end she'll always been born a dude and there's nothing that can change that, no matter how much she wants it.
She doesn't 'think' she's a girl, she is one. Also, I don't understand why the girls would feel uncomfortable that holds up to questioning, so please enlighten me.
Her gender might be female but her sex is male so I assume the girls dont want to see a Penis while they're naked
I didn't realize you got naked in the locker rooms I certainly don't remember doing that.
Her gender might be female but her sex is male so I assume the girls dont want to see a Penis while they're naked
I don't see why this prevents her from using the girl's locker room. You're not required to get fully naked in one. Do the girls want to see vaginas when they're naked? Do the guys want to see dicks while they're naked?
She doesn't 'think' she's a girl, she is one. Also, I don't understand why the girls would feel uncomfortable that holds up to questioning, so please enlighten me.

who has identified as a girl since she was 13 but only publicly revealed her gender identity last year.
Yeah, some of these girls have probably known her as a boy for 6 years now and then suddenly she's a girl and goes to the same bathroom? I'd feel uncomfortable. And also yeah, she still has a penis, looks extremely masculine. She hasn't fully transitioned yet and since it's the gym's bathroom, I'm guessing there are showers there. You don't have to get naked, but some girls do and they don't want to see naked by someone who was a dude except for the past year.

Also, why are we expecting her to be fully transitioned? She can't just pop in for a sex change. It will be years before that's available to her. As well, the majority of the girls probably have no idea who she is. Did everyone at your high school know who you were? Did even 200 people know you? Hell, is it stated that she's even lived there all her life and been going to the same school district the entire time? Why does she have to use the showers? I never used them, and nothing in the article I saw talked about using the girl's showers. Do other girls get barred now from the locker room because they 'look too masculine'? And is any of this not petty bullshit excuses? Even if they did know her for 6 years, which is unlikely, it still doesn't excuse anything. It's not excusable for my family to continue calling me by my birth name despite having known me for 18 years now. I don't give a shit if it's awkward, it's a hell of a lot more important than "ew ickie but it's weird to do that now".
Thats such a trivial discomfort that I'm honestly flaberghasted that people consider that a valid reason to disallow her usage of the locker room.
Maybe for adults, but we're talking about 14 year olds here, people who are still in puberty. I'm sure it's a lot more awkward and uncomfortable for them, especially considering how they already feel a bit weird about their own body. Looking masculine is fine, except if you were a guy before and just let your hair grow and wear makeup and suddenly decide you're a girl. What's so wrong about using gender neutral bathrooms now? Because she is gender neutral. She grew her hair, wears makeup but still doesn't have breasts and still has a dick. If she doesn't want to be a guy, sure, but until the transition she is NOT a woman and should use the gender neutral bathrooms that the school provides. And I can't even believe you're using your birth name as an example?
Thats such a trivial discomfort that I'm honestly flaberghasted that people consider that a valid reason to disallow her usage of the locker room.
You keep repeating this "trivial discomfort" thing, which is kind of weird as you are yourself trivializing their feelings without even knowing why they are discomforted.
Maybe for adults, but we're talking about 14 year olds here, people who are still in puberty. She's in the senior class. Most people in her class (and in the locker rooms with her) are 17-18 years old, hell, some of them might even be 19.
Maybe for adults, but we're talking about 14 year olds here, people who are still in puberty. I'm sure it's a lot more awkward and uncomfortable for them, especially considering how they already feel a bit weird about their own body.
Thats still no excuse.
14 year olds? Then again, I still don't get why you guys think she should be allowed to use the girls restroom. I mean, you're probably guys and you don't even know why these girls feel uncomfortable. The school provided a gender neutral restroom, and for as long as she's still a dude wearing makeup and long hair, she should use that one. It's the GIRLS bathroom, they should be able to decide that a dude isn't allowed in there.
Thats still no excuse.
Your arguments pretty much sum up to 'my problems > your problems'. You're not even attempting to rationalize things from the other point of view. Speaking of rationalizing things, why exactly is the girl's locker room so important for Perry? Can someone enlighten me on why this is such a big problem?
You keep repeating this "trivial discomfort" thing, which is kind of weird as you are yourself trivializing their feelings without even knowing why they are discomforted.
they feel discomforted because of the outrageous social taboos we have in America involving genitalia. In other words "boohoo i saw peepee at school". That is literally the extent of it. Unless your going to imply something asinine like they think shes going to start molesting them.

But no, you're right, a girl in a skirt with long hair and makeup totally belongs in the men's restroom with men
they feel discomforted because of the outrageous social taboos we have in America involving genitalia. In other words "boohoo i saw peepee at school". That is literally the extent of it. Unless your going to imply something asinine like they think shes going to start molesting them.
So, if I decide one day I'm a girl, then I should be allowed to just walk in there and display my dick because "boohoo it's just a dick".
Actually, I'm not a guy, and even if I were, there's a little thing called empathy that would permit me to understand things from a girl's perspective also, I think she should be allowed to use the girls restroom because she is a girl and should be allowed to use the bathroom like any other human being, it's really not that complicated I mean I'm not confusing this, bathrooms are for like, expelling urine and shit, and generally not for sexual encounters, right? And what? She IS allowed to use the bathroom like any other human being, but it is not the female bathroom, it's the gender neutral one. It's not like she's not allowed to take a shit at school. And she's not a girl yet.
You keep repeating this "trivial discomfort" thing, which is kind of weird as you are yourself trivializing their feelings without even knowing why they are discomforted.
I am sure they are going to be driven into mass suicide by the fact that she wants to use a woman's dressing room. How grand could their discomfort truly be? Discomfort isn't additive, it's as important as highest felt on either of the sides, otherwise only a majority would be correct, leading to it's tyranny. After all, I am pretty sure that those 200 people are not going to suddenly becomes more likely to be violently attacked or will have to go to constant therapy sessions because they took a stance on status quo.
The school provided a gender neutral restroom, and for as long as she's still a dude wearing makeup and long hair, she should use that one. It's the GIRLS bathroom, they should be able to decide that a dude isn't allowed in there.
So long as you continue to flaunt the belief that trans people aren't their identified gender until they get SRS then there is literally no point to this discussion
So, if I decide one day I'm a girl, then I should be allowed to just walk in there and display my dick because "boohoo it's just a dick".
Sure, after you prove it to a certified psychologist. [editline]3rd September 2015[/editline]
Speaking of rationalizing things, why exactly is the girl's locker room so important for Perry? Can someone enlighten me on why this is such a big problem?
Again, the fact that she cannot use a bathroom for women, means that she is no identified as a woman, despite identifying herself as such.
So long as you continue to flaunt the belief that trans people aren't their identified gender until they get SRS then there is literally no point to this discussion
No I belief that trans people truly are the gender they believe they are, but until they get 'SRS' they should use gender neutral bathrooms. What's the big deal, why doesn't she want to use that one? Does using a female bathroom make her feel like a girl more?
Sure, after you prove it to a certified psychologist. [editline]3rd September 2015[/editline] Again, the fact that she cannot use a bathroom for women, means that she is no identified as a woman, despite identifying herself as such.

“I find it offensive because Lila has not went though any procedure to become a female — putting on a dress and putting on a wig is not transgender to me,” Sophie Beel, a student, told Fox 2.
That's a quote from the article. I don't think she has seen a certified pyschologist yet, but neither of us know that, so you can't assume she has seen one.
So, if I decide one day I'm a girl, then I should be allowed to just walk in there and display my dick because "boohoo it's just a dick".
The very fact that you made this statement is proof you lack the required knowledge to make intelligent conversation on this topic. You cannot walk into school one day and tell the office you want to use the girls restroom because "You decided to be a girl" It requires a doctors note from a certified psychologist to even be allowed to use a faculty bathroom. At this point you're spouting inane scenario's that A. Are asinine and B. Impossible anyways
So, if I decide one day I'm a girl, then I should be allowed to just walk in there and display my dick because "boohoo it's just a dick".
Y'know transgenderism and transitioning is a little more complicated than 'I'm a girl now'? You have to get a diagnosis of gender identity disorder, you have to actually begin transitioning your whole life towards living as your gender, and you have to completely change wardrobe, hair, start/stop wearing makeup, wear chest binders, learn to tuck, learn to speak properly, so on and so forth. Do you really think guys are going to go through all that for...what? To hear a girl piss in the next stall over? Because the best thing about this weird conservative crossdressing rape fantasy, is that nobody does that.
No I belief that trans people truly are the gender they believe they are, but until they get 'SRS' they should use gender neutral bathrooms. What's the big deal, why doesn't she want to use that one? Does using a female bathroom make her feel like a girl more?
Why is butchering someone's genitals is so important to you? Would you stop being a man if you lost your genitals?
No I belief that trans people truly are the gender they believe they are, but until they get 'SRS' they should use gender neutral bathrooms. What's the big deal, why doesn't she want to use that one? Does using a female bathroom make her feel like a girl more?
Using the "gender neutral bathroom" is great until you realize that not all places have one. Hell a good few schools don't have "Gender neutral bathrooms". What am I supposed to do if there's no gender neutral bathroom? Shit my pants? Piss myself?
I can attest to it myself. I'm a transgendered person, I've been in a woman's restroom before. Do you know what I did? I walked in there with a diabolical smile on my face, I cruelly opened the stall door, maliciously sat down on the toilet and before anyone knew what was going on, I used the bathroom. I know, I know. Then you know what I did? I got up, flushed the toilet, crept over to the women by the sink innocently washing their hands, then I grabbed the sink handle and turned on the hot water before washing my hands with the same blank expression as everyone else and left. It must have been traumatizing to those ~poor girls~ when they saw my dick through the stall door with x-ray vision.
Why is butchering someone's genitals is so important to you? Would you stop being a man if you lost your genitals?
Ehh... Are you saying that gender isn't mainly decided by genitals? No I wouldn't stop being a man if I lost my genitals, but I'd still use the mens bathroom because I was born a man. Look, I get why she wants to use the bathroom but she's not a girl yet. Also you guys keep going on about the restroom, it's also the gym locker room.
What video would this be?

You mean you didn't sacrifice 20 babies to satan like I do when I use the restroom?
Nope! In fact, I didn't even grope or molest someone, or masturbate, or rape anyone, hell I didn't even ogle people, I believe it or not just used the bathroom! Whodathunk?
Nope! In fact, I didn't even grope or molest someone, or masturbate, or rape anyone, hell I didn't even ogle people, I believe it or not just used the bathroom! Whodathunk?
Yeah its almost like we use the restroom like everyone else.
