This game is kinda old, why sp?
Because it's a major plot point and not everyone's beat the game. Seriously wtf is wrong with you? I was about halfway through playing Shadow of the Colossus when I had it spoiled for me around five months ago. Just because you've beat it and the game's six years old doesn't mean anything. [editline]1st July 2014[/editline]
240p, really?
He speedran uploading it.
But is this speedrun Kotaku Approved?
i forgot how boreing fallout is without being able to sprint
Does anyone here on facepunch speedrun? I remember Margen67 doing some HL2 stuff
There was a speedrun thread in GGD a while back, half the people were speedrunners and the other half just drooled over awesome speedrun videos [editline]1st July 2014[/editline] Nvm it just dropped off of my read threads list http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1286101
There is nothing interesting in what bullshit that guy is doing in that game other then exploiting and that other stuff, else if you want real speedrun then play fair, derp.
lol this is like going to an old goldeneye/perfect dark video and bitching about the use of speed strafing BOO HOO ITS AN EXPLOIT PLAY FAIR can you go away?
how to make everybody hate you in 1 easy step
Everyone hates him!
All quests completed, all locations found, and all achievements got? If you want to be insane you could talk to every unique NPC and open every container, but that's more than insane.
Except that certain choices in this game would preclude you from quests and achievements. If you beat the game for Ceasar's Legion in New Vegas, you couldn't get the achievement for beating the game for the NCR in the same save. It would be impossible to do all quests and get every reward in a single save for a game like that.
There is nothing interesting in what bullshit that guy is doing in that game other then exploiting and that other stuff, else if you want real speedrun then play fair, derp.
There probably is a Any% Glitchless category for this game this is just regular any% where anything goes
The best speedruns are the ones with the best skips and generally insane speed and glitches
I didn't watch this the whole way through but this is the No Major Skips run
when I speedrun I use noclip to go through various select walls because too slow i am also kotaku approved
I can't believe you spergs take this seriously, it's obvious he's joking.
I can't believe you spergs take this seriously, it's obvious he's joking.
jokes are supposed to be funny
Still my favourite outrageous "speedrun" of all time. I mean seriously, how the hell do you even do this? I know he's probably found a place where the controller inputs will be stored into memory somehow, and then he's found a way to get the SNES to jump to those inputs as if it's executable code, but it's still really nifty to me. On topic, watching this made me realize how truly annoying no sprint in Fallout 3 was. Like seriously, in the beginning it took forever to get to places. And you constantly were sent to places you hadn't discovered yet, so no option for fast travel. It wasn't a big deal though, I really enjoyed the world and the setting, so I kinda liked roaming the world.
I have never even touched a Bethesda game in my entire life
if you're going to post at least be direct about the content
jokes are supposed to be funny
Oh man, then you're in for a rude awakening when you dive into what people actually consider jokes.
Still my favorite they broke the speedrecord before this with 10 minutes
That's a different category than the WR Kukkye holds. That's a TAS, basically. They were doing several things that a normal runner doesn't do (like run the game at 1000 FPS, which changes physics so they can do ridiculous things, while most twitch runners do it at 100FPS for game stability). Edit: Forgot to mention, it's also segmented. This run was actually being made over the course of atleast a year, with new strategies being found.
If you want to see a game run with crazy amounts of skipping then look no further than Dark Souls 2.
Does anyone here on facepunch speedrun? I remember Margen67 doing some HL2 stuff
i speedrun a game literally no-one cares about and like no-one knows about counter strike condition zero deleted scenes
what is the point in this? why is it such a big deal? well done you glitched through walls and jumped around a lot. i don't see how this is entertaining a) for the nerd doing it or b) for the nerds watching it
haha. you showed us nerds, posting on a video game forum!!!!

Which means that he's able to do those things because he can slow his game down to do frame by frame maneuvers and manipulate other aspects of the game to make shortcuts and/or gain speed AFAIK. I think it's also possible to make the game rewind if you miss something so you can perfect every possible part of the run.

I remember accidentally skipping half the game and finding dad because I didn't give fuck one about the whole dad investigation and just went exploring straight up. Needless to say it broke the galaxy news radio quest and I had no idea what was going on with the whole radio dish thing.
snip wrong nothing to see here
It takes that long? Wow.
To be fair if you know where your dad is you can just do some stuff around Megaton, save money, buy armor, guns, ammo, and meds, and go on a quick journey to where he is, completely bypassing the stuff between meeting Three Dog and going to The Memorial. [sp]Daddy Neeson is in a vault, hidden within a roadside garage somewhere on the far west side of the map. He went there to find a Vault-Tec Scientist named Braun to learn about the G.E.C.K, which Neeson thinks he can use to jumpstart a machine, whose purpose is to clean the waters in the Potomac for everyone to drink.[/sp]

If you get into V87 via any method, the game automatically starts the third act.
Does anyone here on facepunch speedrun? I remember Margen67 doing some HL2 stuff
I just begun to speedrun New Vegas, 51 minutes and 25 seconds is my record at the moment. Not the best compared to some people but it was my first attempt at one.

Speedrunning looks like such a boring activity in practice.
You don't even need to do that, as this video proves. If you get into V87 via any method, the game automatically starts the third act.
Seriously? :v: I need to try that sometime after I'm done with my Skyrim runs.
