Alt rock band My Chemical Romance announces break-up - Polidicks

Eh, I'm gonna miss them. I loved The Black Parade when I was younger, and Danger Days was such a nice, happy album.

Man, so much hate for MCR. I love this band and am quite sad to see them go. I was really looking forward to new music from them.

Although nowadays I think The Black Parade is horseshit musically-wise, It's the album (along with American Idiot, another album I don't like anymore) that got me into concept albums.

You can say what you want about their music but they had videos on a scale that not many bands did. They were consistently pretty epic.

I guess they just didn't have the chemistry anymore.

I really enjoyed their music because of Gerard's voice, and the band's unique style that I couldn't find anywhere else. Also props to them for turning down an offer to write songs for the twilight series (that would have been their true death if it weren't for this). They really pulled me through my darker years in high school, and reading some posts from their community makes it seem like a lot of people turned to them for support. This was a band I could count on no matter how bad I felt. Their latest releases (conventional weapons) could have been left unreleased, but I'm guessing their label saw they weren't making anything new or interesting so they decided for one last profit before the band split. I really wish they would have stopped at danger days though.
