I live in Cumbria, it's seriously not as bad as everyone is saying it is. Also cockermouth is always pronounced cockamuth (at least whenever I've heard it) so it isn't [i]quite[/i] as bad as it could be. Also the flood defences in Carlisle worked really well, if they hadn't been built Cumbria's only city would be looking like this again:
