I'm probably going to hold out, $30 is a lot for EA, even if it's not as bad as the other Early Access titles.
KF2 is being made by Tripwire not EA
KF2 is being made by Tripwire not EA
...EA =Early Access.
You lost me at early access. I loved Killing Floor but I'm sick of half-finished games, especially if they make you pay for them.
Because the fame of KF1 isn't enough to tell you that buying this even sooner than usual is a very good idea.
KF2 is being made by Tripwire not EA
You, sir, are silly.
$30 is a lot less than I expected. To be completely honest, it's a steal
I don't understand when people say $30 is too much for an Early Access game. Does Steam's Early Access guarantee the final game when it's finished? So you'd be technically playing $30 for the full game?
It's not to get the game to you earlier, it's to improve it by help and feedback of the community.
rarely treated that way though
I wonder if all the new characters have equally ridiculous voices, now that there are people from a wide variety of backgrounds.

That's some really odd reasoning. This is for people who were going to buy it anyways, and it saves you money and you're supporting the devs during development. Personally I have been waiting for early access for that exact reason, and it's almost a complete product already, so what's the issue?
Tripwire is one of the few devs I trust with early-access, plus we know a fair deal about them so it's not some unknown developer that came out of the blue and thought they could give EA a try.
From the gameplay videos they've put up there doesn't really seem to be a reason to launch in early access.
Balance, lest you forgot the immeasurable tide of whining that accompanied every balance/economy change in KF1, also their net infrastructure hasn't been remotely tested under any kind of stress.
One of the devs on reddit confirmed the price WILL NOT go up at launch.

I'm probably gonna play it for a few hours, just to see how it plays then not touch it until launch so I don't burn out.
Total Biscuit did a interview with the devs.

The Explosive Harpoon launcher for the Demolition was downright overpowered if you hit a FP in the head. It basically made using Sharpshooters redundant for FP/Scrakes, particularly in Suicidal/Hell on Earth where the Crossbow suffered huge damage penalties while the Harpoons didn't.

SWAT, John Woo, an actual dragon, and Ghostbuster.
