and then they fucking charge 5 bucks for ritz like really jesus
They don't call 'em Ritz for nothing.
I'd just... Not pay it. Like, holy shiiit, you don't do that. You don't take matters into your own hands like that, and say "btw, you owe us $10, now, no need to thank us." The money issue is bullshit as is, but their audacity to make such a decision is appalling, on top.
Good idea Horrible execution
School systems have the collective IQ of a deer. They implement systems that are "good on paper" then get trained monkeys to see it though. A similar thing was replacing vending machine goods in HS with sugerless and healthy snacks, and beefing up the prices. The students just went to the corner store during lunch.

When the Teachers unions aren't enormous cunts it's everything else that makes grades 1-12 a living hell these days.
What on earth kind of system is this? Holy shit.
What's with that god damn font?
What's with that god damn font?
School.
I have never heard of such terrible food problems at schools. My school had a full kitchen with fresh ingredients restocked every 3rd day where me amoung others made different foods each day that where fresh, Like fruit salads, hamburgers straight off the grill Etc. Was I the only one that had this?
School systems have the collective IQ of a deer. They implement systems that are "good on paper" then get trained monkeys to see it though.
Most of the ideas never seem to be good on paper. This is just a stupid daycare. The whole education's lunch and health programs aren't terrible.
This article seems pretty fake, or atleast really sensationalized in a way to get people angry over some extremely isolated incident. This is blog post of a story that doesn't give a source, gives a very vague location and the only "evidence" is a picture of a piece of paper that could be very easily faked.
What's with that god damn font?
it could have been in comic sans, so let's be thankful of that.
Is Canada's school lunch system privatized the way America's is? That might explain bullshit like this.
Maybe your school is run differently, but every school I've ever attended was 100% DGAF about the contents of home-brought lunches. If you brought a lunch that consisted of nothing but ice cream sandwiches and root beer the school gave less than half of a fuck about it...which, honestly, is how it should be. If the parent is willing to indulge a child's desire for junk food, or if the parent insists on the child eating certain foods on allergy/religion reasons, they should be allowed to do so.
lol back in senior school not even the principal cared when some of us in our year snuck out of school to get shit like fish and chips, maccas, kfc etc. we've literally walked by him coming in from the front gate hands full of it.

They didn't care if someone else brought the fast food to the students, and just to make it even sweeter there was a small parking area directly adjacent to the outdoor eating area. I watched quite a bit of fast food get delivered that way, and one kid even had Pizza Hut deliver to his table once.
At my HS we had a closed campus so no one could ever leave during brunch or lunch, it ended up making no sense at all because if you snuck out for whatever reason, to smoke weed, to go to the supermarket down the street, or whatever the fuck, the only way to get in trouble would be to come back to school, meaning that you might as well never come back, at least then you wouldn't get punished, and with the punishment being suspension...you'd probably not want to get caught.
Gotta love the way our school advertises their food. why doesnt the mum just tell them to fuck off. Seriously this is complete bullshit
Parents should send a steaming turd to the school's staff as complement for their shitty decisions.

A common gripe at my school is that "Not even the homeless would eat this," which isn't far from the truth, plus I gained 10 pounds eating the "Healthy" school lunch
$10 for Ritz Crackers?! Are they out of their MINDS?! I mean yeah Ritz are amazing but I wouldn't pay that much for two boxes. I sure wouldn't pay this. What are they going to do, kick the student out of school? Hold your education hostage for ransom? They can't
Wow, Canada sure sounds like it's really anal about snack time.
You're making it sound like all of Canada does this. That fucking comic sans though.
when i was in highschool, they took out pop in vending machines, to leave diet pop which was alright then they took out diet pop and only had juice and milk no one bought anything because it was fucking way overpriced so they lost money our food regulations are way over the top

I'm glad I was done with school before all this nutritional bullshit took off. The only restrictions I had when I was finishing school was no energy drinks and the canteen only sold diet soda.
I feel like I should too be angry, but I'm not because of that hip & cool font they chose!
Schools don't provide lunches here at all so everything about this sounds silly to me. If a kid gets no / bad food from home teachers will talk to the parents (in primary school) but we didn't even have a proper lunch room in high school, and no lunch room in primary school at all, just ate in class. (Well we did in high school but it was so small and ridiculous only the freshmans ate there, we just ate in the halls, or on the way back from the supermarket which was a 5 minute walk away).
Seeing as it's $10 for Ritz crackers, is this really a school or the daycare at a luxury hotel and therefore the crackers were treated as something from the minibar? Could have been worse. Could have been lack of meat and the parents would have had to pay $10 for 2 of those 25 cent "meat" jerky sticks.
