I hope they throw a soundtrack bundle up for the game(s), the entire series (save for Halo 4, Neil Davidge did okay but he can't hold a candle to O'Donnell/Salvatori) is up there with some of the best game soundtracks of all time.
but if they loved it so much, they would not have sold their 360
I've had three of those fucking things RROD on me, so fuck you.
but if they loved it so much, they would not have sold their 360
What? That couldn't be any less relevant to what I was saying. My point was: I have never had an Xbox 360 nor ever had any intentions of getting one. I have played it on 360. Only beat the first level which took over an hour on legendary because I suck at the game but it was fun. I wouldn't mind a pc version. Do you actually get my point now?
I've had three of those fucking things RROD on me, so fuck you.
I didn't realize the red ring was still a problem, I haven't heard anything about that since 2008
Halo 3 is the game that got me into gaming Bring that shit to PC, I hear it's a ghost-town on xbox.
The population wasn't that bad, but then again Microsoft never gave the game a chance being released on Vista... Especially GFWL :suicide:
The population was, what... 21? I'd say that's pretty low. As much as I would love some game's multiplayer to stay around forever, sometimes you've just got to be realistic. Red Faction's master server was shut off ages ago, but modders setup their own master server so the game can live on. Maybe Halo 2 can get something similar going.
I didn't realize the red ring was still a problem, I haven't heard anything about that since 2008
I never owned any of the "fixed" models, only original white ones (including my launch 360). I've sent two of them back multiple times with no effect, each one would die off after a week or two. By the time they "fixed" it my fucks had already expired.
I had a launch box (2005) that only RROD'd twice. Once in 2009, and a second time in 2012. After that I just got a slim and it's been great.
Im still inside the Halo 3 game group for Steam.
-graphics are good by today's standards, and the game's 6 years old.
I'm not so sure about that. [t]http://russellsreviews.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/halo-3-20070923023559740.jpg[/t] It looks decent, but nothing I could admire with today's standards.
It looks decent, but nothing I could admire with today's standards.
The game is aging well because it had a pretty out-there aesthetic for a shooter. It won't take much at all to bring it up to today's "standards" whatever the fuck those are. The way the specular highlights go grey when they're shadowed pissed me off though. I hope they fix that if the port is happening. If I may be so bold, I'll say the water still looks good even by today's standards. In fact, I feel like there was a major downgrade after Halo 3 even since ODST's water.
Even if the visuals look dated, is that much of an issue? Stuff like TF2 and HL2 are old, yet continue to look good. Besides, it seems to me like there'd eventually be a mod to improve the graphics, given the currently existing Halo mod community.
^ eh... idk. Half life 2 episodes still look good. Half life 2... eh... It's on and off. The city settings still look great. Nova prospekt looks great. All the terrain work is ugh. The citadel interior is UUUUGGGHHHH... Then again maybe it's easier to say this because I've seen better work done with the same tools. I have seen no such thing in Halo 3's engine save maybe ODST which was still restricted by a 360. Man, I really want this to happen. I really want to see what people do with it.

I don't think that's so big of an issue, honestly, because I've seen people do some fantastic shit with what Halo 1's engine had to offer, and if people could squeeze enough performance out of Halo 1 to make it look like Halo 2, then I have hopes for Halo 3.
I'm not so sure about that. Obviously I shouldn't enjoy the gameplay and have no real issues with the graphics because they don't live up to today's standards.
He never said that he wouldn't be able to play the game and would hate it just because the graphics. He just says the graphics aren't really that good anymore.
I don't see any problem at all with the graphics. Looks perfectly fine to me.
Let's not kid ourselves here... the average polycount/ texture resolution in Halo 3 was pretty blegh even for its day. The reason why it got by was because of its carefully constructed color scheme. Then again, it needed to restrict these things in order to run on a system that had 512mb of ram and still have a draw distance of like 15 miles. The graphics are definitely dated, but it still looks beautiful on its own design principles. I feel the same way about the first three Spyro games. You know, the real ones. That being said, if that shit gets out, we can inflate those polycounts and texture resolutions to absurd highs, and blow up the draw distance even more. Jesus Fucking Christ this needs to happen. It's not a matter of "it would be nice" anymore. This HAS to fucking happen. The shitty part is though is that from what I've experienced on Halo PC community forums, the average Halo PC player has a fucking horrible rig. I can guarantee most of them are running Halo 1 with an integrated graphics card and it's the only game they have save MAYBE TF2.

It could barely run TF2, too.
that's sad mang
but if they loved it so much, they would not have sold their 360
why do you not want it to be ported to PC so badly again?
