Well, almost no one follows religions completely, I would be happy if they just followed these:
Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.
Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.
Do not harm young children.
When in another’s home, show them respect or else do not go there.
Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.
I'm turning that one into a giant stamp and using it against the foreheads of people complaining about gay marriage and abortion.

I've never even bothered to look up anything like that and this is pretty much my own set of codes.
Yeah La Veyan satanism tends to be some pretty decent common sense.

It's an atheist/agnostic religion too(The LaVeyan one) and it allows you to celebrate any holiday you want.
Honestly, I'd probably follow LaVeyan if it wasn't called "Satanism." I just can't deal with that social sort of stigma.
And I'd never follow anything I'd have to keep in secret.
Another idiot trying to use religion as an excuse. This crime is far too heinous even for Satan herself.
[editline]12:30AM[/editline]
I mean Satan himself

But it's not a religion, in a way.
There's nothing to stop you from following its philosophies.
I don't believe in the death penalty. It just seems wrong to me. Also, based on his crimes, I'm sure prison would be a hellhole for him anyway.

I think I'll just stick to the beat of my own drum.
Now that I know more about Satanism though, I definitely appreciate it's values, more-so than any other religion of sorts.
It reminds me a lot of Ayn Rand's Objectivism.
decided to do some reading about laveyan satanism:
LaVeyan Satanism, also referred to as Atheistic Satanism or Agnostic Satanism was founded in 1966 by Anton LaVey. Its teachings are based on individualism, self-control, and "eye for an eye" morality, drawing influences from the rituals and ceremonies of occultist Aleister Crowley, and the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ayn Rand.
heh.
^ There ya go. Ayn Rand.
The prosecution didn't have the relevance to the case to introduce that in the trial.
That's impressing upon the jury with details that aren't relevant to the case. "Oh hey guys, by the way, this man is a Satanist."

Yes, someone's religion does not change their crimes. It may have supplied a motive, but it does not change what they did.
people who worship a being who supposedly hates humanity and everything we stand for even more than he hates god are pretty stupid.

He's a LaVeyan Satanist; he doesn't worship anything.

Punishments for crimes in the US are pretty archaic, you kill someone you get killed.
I have yet to see that in any European countries, its even hard to get a lifetime sentence and even harder to get a long jail time.

"I would just like to say on behalf of myself and Saddam that we have no association with this wacko nutjob"
But yeah, he sucks at Satanism. He doesn't need any of those things.
Or maybe it's because he's an ACTUAL Devil-worshipper.
[editline]10:44PM[/editline]
Devil-worshipping is the worshipping of evil incarnate, LaVeyan Satanism is self-centred hedonism which is still pretty bad.
Maybe in order to continue being a good judge you should wise the fuck up instead of running your mouth about things you don't understand.
Funny... it's not a problem when this happens regarding Islam, is it?

He mentioned the "Church of Satan" and the "Satanic Bible", both are associated with LaVeyan Satanism
He actually has a point.
But I'm not a fan of the death penalty to begin with. So whatever.
Even if he did kill at 15 year old girl, that judge is a fucking idiot for getting religion involved with the law.
Although his crime was obviously pretty damn evil, since religion got involved he should get a retrial. Doesn't mean he isn't a child raping murderer though.
He raped and killed a 15 year old, he should shut the fuck up and not say anything
Agreed. Fry him now!
Agreed. Fry him now!
Doesn't work that way. If someone's trial is tainted in any way they deserve a retrial. If we let one slide we set a precedent for letting all sorts of corruption through.
Agreed. Fry him now!
lol
are you the kind of person who wouldn't give a fuck if they just raped and murdered everybody found guilty of rape and murder
[editline]penis[/editline]
or in other words do you support the barbaric idea of "an eye for an eye"

It wasnt tainted, though. He and his lawyer both know this. They just want another trial with the same inevitable conclusion as a means to delay his execution...its a colossal waste of tax payer money.

I believe if you kill another person without just cause, you deserve to die, or at the very least lose your rights for the rest of your natural life.

why
why
Because they took away their victim's rights, including their right to live their life. In such a case, yes I do believe an eye for an eye is a fair statement.
