I've found CP in my CSS Temp folder. Never found it in my TF2 one but I've seen some really sick shit in them and I'm not easily repulsed. Valve really needs to add an autocleaning system for that folder.

How are they supposed to know that someone downloaded it? Not to mention that the majority of cp was made decades ago. But as far as I know, the creators have literally no idea what happens to it after they make it. Perhaps they sell it to a few people who then upload it elsewhere, at which point it is out of the creators hands. Admittedly I don't know how it works, but I doubt that the "demand" is very noticable.

There's really no creating of a demand unless you're buying it or are in direct contact with the creator.

Do you really think that child molesters make the stuff just for other people to download it? That they keep track of a download count somewhere, so they go "Ooh, I'm popular!" every time they get another download? Of course they don't. They do it probably either because they just feel like molesting children and making porn of it, or because they know they can sell it to someone.

I think the discussion on child porn is really weird, and I can't quite figure it out, mainly because of how straight forward it looks from my perspective.
If it was legal to possess, it would be exactly like videos of animal abuse and murder; the police would find the video somewhere on the internet [I](which is really hard for them right now because it's so underground)[/I] and then they use it as evidence against the person who [I]actually[/I] committed the crime.

The argument is that children are harmed in child porn, but people are also harmed in murder videos and accident videos and what not. Then there's the argument that viewing it fuels a supply, which really doesn't seem to make much sense because there's barely an audience and almost literally no gain. Then there's the argument that it fuels pedophiles' desires to become molesters, which is like saying that violent video games makes people into murderers. And it seems that studies even show the opposite, or at least that it has no effect on abuse occurence.

But then again I'm a gigantic sick fuck so what do I know. Feel free to discard anything I said based on your current feeling of disgust. I just contend that viewing it really is a victimless crime, plus that illegalizing it has many detrimental side-effects.

I would say that what people should be concerned about is child molestation and child abuse, not 'how many pedophiles are there'.
