This may be a little bit generalizing, but I've never seen a democracy be as overly aggressive in its politics as the United States. France has its moments, but when shit gets really sour people know better than to fling shit at each other (see the Republican Rallies after the Hebdo attacks). I can't really think of a single other democracy (that's actually a democracy that is, not a front for totalitarian bullshit) that's so vicious when it comes to treating the opposition.

To foreigners especially, I understand how things might seem this way.
But they're not. What has happened since the Great Recession is that our politics have become more polarized and people have become more vocal. Any apparent aggressiveness in us is a bullshit put-on, however.
People in this country like to pretend that they're big and tough and vicious when it comes to their politics nowadays, but the truth of the matter is that they're the same do-nothing creatures as they were before. They don't actually do anything other than get into verbal arguments with each other and bitch and moan and complain and fight with words. They try to put each other down, but they're cowards and won't physically confront each other regardless of what side of the spectrum they're on.
At their most extreme, you'll get small groups of conservatives who will stand around in a park or something with guns and wave flags and bitch about the government, but the truth of the matter is these people are just as cowardly and are only out there with their guns and their flags because they also want to feel/act tough and pretend they're important. Or liberals who will smash shit like with Occupy Oakland.
But don't feel intimidated or anything. Seriously. It's all bullshit. Nothing ever happens here, nothing ever changes here.

It's not funny if I don't raise my lips up even slightly.
And I don't even think it was a joke, by the way, telling someone to "fuck off" isn't really nice. Who made you the king?
Well, now people can flogg those edgy tweeters etc. for being 'pro ISIS un-american fascists'.
Anyway, here's a summary of Kayla's many volunteer activities from Haaretz.
I'm not seeing anything there that justifies celebrating her death.
not a front for totalitarian bullshit.
I think you've mistaken the US for something else.
(That's a joke. I dont actually think the US is totalitarian)
I figured it would be the exact opposite and conservatives would rally around this nice innocent pretty white girl being killed by ISIS (or Jordanian bombs).
You're giving them too much credit. They have no idea what they believe anymore. As long as they think it flies in the face of dem libturds and obongo they're for it, even if it is 100% incompatible with other things they say and believe.
Daily Show did a great bit on this with Fox News and Republicans jerking off over King Abdullah of Jordan wearing a flight suit and praising him for his autocratic strength and go getter attitude. Rewind to Fox and Republicans mocking Obama by calling him "King Obama" when he moved in a unilateral fashion on whatever issue it was at the time.
There is no consistency, there is no core principle at play, they're just mindless dipshits looking for literally any reason (imagined or otherwise) to hate people.
Yeah, 200(?) people on Facebook / Twitter gives the entirety of the US a bad image.
I don't really understand how "Some people on the internet are assholes" is news.
While I don't know what your personal perspectives are, this is exactly the logic that a wide streak of Facepunch applies to Islam, black people, immigrants, and essentially any other racial, cultural, and ethnic group that is popular to hate. A minority of an otherwise massive population does or says stupid or horrible things, but despite the communities they originated from wanting no part of that silliness, the smallminded bigots of the world seek out these bad examples and paint their entire population in the same stroke. The stupidity of a few end up demonizing the majority. Would that we could live in world where people could learn to put that bullshit to rest once and for all.

I'm just curious as to when you put Islam on your priority list?. you seem to have banned a lot of people for Isamophobia, but I don't see anyone being banned for antisemitism.
And it is essentially what they're doing.

I would and have banned for offensive antisemitic comments before, and will do it again if I see just cause to. Antisemitism just isn't quite as prevalent here as some of the other bigotries I've pointed out, so I don't have to do it nearly as often.

Are images like this, not anti-semitism in your opinion?

You don't know what Satire is.
Here's a example from a well known satirical site mocking the less trustworthy news outlets:

How do you differentiate real anti-semitsm from satire, since they're essentially preaching the same thing and reinforcing anti-Semitic stereotypes?

Satire doesn't reinforce stereotypes, it mocks them. The whole point of satire is to ridicule the irrational behaviours on ethics, politics, etc.

Doesn't seem to ridicule it really, it just reinforces the sterotypes.

How is using a derogatory term used by jews applied to non-jews anti semitism?
Are goys not allowed to say goy?
And what is derogatory about saying "shekels"? That is the israeli currency, not the jewish ethnicity currency
Doesn't seem to ridicule it really, it just reinforces the sterotypes.
Satire is only an instrument through which people want to express the message, satire isn't at fault here. Much of satire is used for good criticizing. Read Lucretius, Horatius, Juvenal's Satyricon.
Satire depends on the way it's used of course, but it is not at fault.
Satire doesn't reinforce stereotypes. Its use does. Don't shoot the messenger.

Stop playing dumb, troll.
These guys are parody levels of bad, I hardly think they represent ANYBODY at all.
Stop playing dumb, troll.
I'm not playing dumb, just answer the question.
You can't because neither of those posts were anti-semitic and you feel persecuted for no reason
It reinforces the stereotype that Jews only care about money, it's not really hard to understand.
The reason you don't understand this, is because you were never on the receiving end of this.
It generalizes people, like people Generalize Muslims (Islamophobia) which people have been banned for before. I'll wait for a mod reply, I don't need lectures from a /pol/ shill

How exactly does it do that? Because after seeing it I don't feel anti-semitic at all.

Actually that post in particular implies that conservatives only care about money, as it was in response to "I've never understood why the fuck conservatives have such a hardon for Israel."
How exactly does it do that? Because after seeing it I don't feel anti-semitic at all.
because you don't that means that it doesn't reinforce the stereotype?

Very sad, but also very true. Tragic, even. One of my former bosses keeps posting shit on Facebook about how people need to stop believing everything the media tells them because it's all bullshit, and then proceeds to post a bunch of crap from sites like "conservativeinfidel.com" accompanied by a "Hell yeah!" or "Wake up, sheeple!".
Like, he's seriously in the state of mind where he hopes he's on some government watch-list and welcomes the thought of anyone calling him a "terrorist" because he thinks this country needs a revolt and he's a 2nd Amendment supporter.
