• Razer creates new 'Game Booster' to boost performance

Used to own a Razer mouse and i have tried out my friend Razer keyboard. I have to say they are absolutely horrible, the keyboard had all the keys wear off, some buttons refused to work and the backlight broke. My friend took good care of the keyboard as well. With the mouse, i would constantly double click randomly, i returned it and the same thing happened with the next mouse i got so i returned it and bought a Lazer z2, which was really cheap and has lasted me 3 years with no problems
I'm betting money everyone bashing razer products has never used one in their entire life. I have a razer keyboard/mouse/headset and I am damn happy with my purchases. I used to use a shitty keyboard / plantronic headset / logitech G5 combo for a long time. Despite I treated my gaming gear with absolute care they'd break into pieces within a span of 6 months from heavy usage. The laser in my G5 would always shit out in about 6 months, sometimes buttons would break. My plantronics headsets must've been made from the cheapest plastic in the world, I WOULD NOT EVEN BEND THE HEADSET TO FIT OVER MY HEAD, I'D SLIDE IT AROUND MY NECK AND THE PLASTIC WOULD BREAK AND SNAP OVER TIME. The plantronics headset also would have the bass shit out after heavy useage of listening to music and gaming. The keyboards I had would have keys come off or have the letters wear down / buttons break. The razer products I've had has worked just as good as they had straight out of the box, Day 1. I just cleaned my keyboard the other day and it feels brand new. Say what you want about Razer products (their tablets and shit are super gimmicky, I can agree on that) but they are DURABLE and they LAST. To me, that's the most important thing in the world. My keyboard/mouse/headset have been working flawlessly for almost two years now.
Razer makes adequate but overpriced mice. The macs of the mice world. Everything else they make is absolute shit. Have fun with 3kro keyboards.
To me it just feels like 75% of people in this thread are just hopping on the Razer hate-bandwagon. They do make quality products that last.
Stop by the hardware discussion section once in a while. Razer keyboards are almost universally made fun of for being absolute shit. Even their mechanical keyboards don't have proper key roll over.
the g13 keyboard is amazing, and I won't let anything change my mind about that. Because I can set all my weapons to the thumb stick for instant swapping :U and bunny hop and all that. I mean, once I buy a g600, with a g13 and g510, I'll have one program to easily control buttons very efficiently, which very good macros too. the g600 looks way better than the naga, plus with g-shift has to be. Haven't really used mechanical keyboards, though. They sound really nice.
figured
figured
and to be fair on that note, the g13 I wouldn't change at all, and that's what I primarily use for gaming like, 99.99% of the time. Just way too convenient :U Mech KB's bounce far better and smoother and allow better control from what I hear, therefore more comfy, for my typing I would like that + my g keys, but the g13 is good enough as it clicks very naturally and smoothly for games, better than my actual keyboard.
I hear IoBit has bad business practices. I wouldn't have imagined Razer would have partnered with them.
I hear IoBit has bad business practices. I wouldn't have imagined Razer would have partnered with them.
So does Razer.
I hear IoBit has bad business practices.
isn't it obvious they partnered with Razer of all companies
Right now I'm using a pretty average desktop pc and I use GameBooster regularly. I can honestly say that it does help with getting a little extra fps to run some games smoothly. I believe this program only has it's use for lower end computers and such.
Fuck razer. Turbo buttons are all the boost I need.
Except for the fact that turbo buttons actually reduce the speed of the processor for backwards compatibility with applications that relied on clockspeed.
ITT: People that talk shit about a product they've used that one time, which has meanwhile shipped multiple tens of thousands of working copies since they've stayed in business for years and years. Both Razer and Logitech have great and not-so-great products, and just because you got one crappy one that skipped through QA in no way shape or form means their entire line sucks, so unless you work for a giant corporation that got fifteen human being sized crates of entire crap (protip: you don't, you didn't) you probably don't know what the fuck you're talking about other than OMG .033% of the products they shipped failed, and you happened to win the "well that sucks for you" lottery. For the record, I've used a Razer Lachesis that's lasted 4 years of pro level gaming and multi DPI per hour art use, and a first run Logitech G15 that is just now beginning to lose its lighting use despite being pounded on for hours almost every day of its life.
gameboosters allow me to play guild wars 2 on my netbook at ~30 fps it kills literally every unnecessary program running besides the game, and essentially dumps ram to a file. When you stop the boost it loads everything EXACTLY as it was before.
Razer, great. What a joke. It's money out of your arse compared to the quality, and it's also flashy and gimmicky.
The video is even more cheesier: :suicide:
Isn't that the Epic Meal time song?
These "game boosting" programs never worked for me, most likely because they're bullshit
I put performance boosters like these up there with DvD Rewinders. They don't do anything, and freeing up 120mb of RAM isn't going to boost performance, it might stop a stutter you were having in a flash game, but that's it. Also if it kills explorer.exe, then what's the fucking point? That causes your PC to reboot in 60 seconds. 59. 58. 57.

If you have a shit computer this will give you between half an fps to 2 fps so i wouldn't bother
If you ever need to rely on "performance boosting" software to run your games it just means your computer is shit and there's no software to fix that.
Does anyone in this thread know about TuneUp Utilities? If not, go check it out. It'll boost everything on your computer, really. It optimizes your system settings (if you click Apply on it's suggestions, of course), defragments your drive, and your registry settings, and cleans up after you in temporary files and unused registry settings. It's also got a configurable turbo mode, that works somewhat like this. If you're serious about getting your computer to "go fast", I'd suggest giving it a whirl. [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] No, it's not free.

I actually have an older version of Game Booster installed on this laptop. It works surprisingly well.
Can I download more ram with it?
I steer clear of anything marketed by a company that says it's "for gamers" since that to me just indicated its a massive gimmick.
I steer clear of anything marketed by a company that says it's "for gamers" since that to me just indicated its a massive gimmick.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. All you need is some critical thinking, also towards your own beliefs.
I installed the IOrbit Advanced System Care (included all sorts of boosters/tweak-stuff) on my laptop and desktop. It did fuck-all except destroying my registry. I say throw that shit out, though I suppose that pausing services and freeing up some memory could come in handy on an old laptop.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. All you need is some critical thinking, also towards your own beliefs.
and the ability to scan fuck tons of text and video reviews fuck loads which is what I always always do before buying things major.
what the fuck are you on about
I'm saying programs like Enditall and this Game Booster is snake oil, my friend. If you want performance, Buy more Ram, a new CPU, or GPU. Closing a few non essential services isn't going to magically let you run a game on Medium settings instead of low Unless of course you're one of these morons who has 20 toolbars in IE and 30 icons on the tray of useless shit, then maybe yeah it might help, but only because you're too stupid to realize you install programs that suck up 2 gigs of your memory
I'm saying programs like Enditall and this Game Booster is snake oil, my friend. If you want performance, Buy more Ram, a new CPU, or GPU. Closing a few non essential services isn't going to magically let you run a game on Medium settings instead of low
Actually, on one of the computers in my house it actually lets World of Tanks run higher than 15fps on low. It runs on 30fps after game booster pretty much closes Explorer and whatever else..... It's not my computer, it's my dad's, and he refuses to upgrade his PC, since he'll only spend under $100. and if he spent $120, he'd be good for all of his games.
It's a good program for those who don't have very good knowledge of computers and how they work but still want to play games - helps them update drivers, turns off unnecessary programs, etcetera. Those with some computer knowledge can do it all manually, so they probably won't even need the program. Plus, this program won't even help out that much unless your computer is trashed to shit (software-wise); especially if your computer can run almost any game at maximum settings with no FPS drops below 40 (on HD-resolution), and such a computer can cost less than $1000. Perhaps it might help a little when recording, but their built-in recording software might not be as good as Fraps, for example. Hey, at least it's free.
