The interview.

I heard that Adam Sessler was going on FOX to debate this. Someone needs to go on there and tell them to shut the fuck up.
I NEVER thought I'd say this but....GO FOX!!!! I can't help but laugh at this.
I have added a video to the OP.
kill peepul
This shit manages to raise my blood pressure like nothing else, the fact that such ignorant people can get on television and proclaim their views as fact and that people will believe them, they didn't research the game at all, they didn't pay any attention to the guy when he said you don't play as a terrorist.
Plus they weren't really trying to evoke terror, they were trying to provoke Russia into attacking America.
Just finished the game, it's awesome by the way, and played the level again.
I'm must say I didn't start shotting right away into the crowd, actually I only shot at the gaurds and FSB agents. Didn't help much when I then saw the "depature/arriving" board where it said "Copenhagen" made me feel like I was killing fellow danes in the airport.
I understand the move, the twist at the end had me surprised and I could definately see the "logic" in Makarov's mind.
This is fucking ridiculous. Well it is Fox news so what does it matter? I would like to see an actual developer of the game to come and have a debate with one of those dumbasses over their at Fox news. It would be fun to watch.
:foxnews:
Why does it matter if we get to play a terrorist? [sp]He gets shot and killed anyway at the end of the level, so it's like getting punished for being a terrorist.[/sp]
At least, that's how I feel about the situation.
This just makes me want the game even more...
With a heartfelt apology to the other half of America, I wish to express my concern that approximately half your countrymen have sub-human levels of intelligence.

this just in! new videogame trains children to be bears!
I'm just waiting for the next mass-killing to be blamed on this.
Fox news being silly again.
this game simulates war, war is violent
hey lets ban war movies because kids can watch them and they might become terrorists
Fucking hell, when I played this level last night, my EXACT thought was, Fox is going to do a report on this.
Now, I agree that everyone likes to run over bunches of pedestrians in GTA IV, and people happily play the evil character in games like Fallout 3, blowing heads off with glee. Hell, I've absorbed my fair share of screaming civilians in Prototype, without so much as a twinge of regret.
I think this scene in MW2 is different.
Something about it is just horrifying. You coldly slaughter (well, your partners, maybe not you) a ton of random people waiting around in an airport. There's no funny physics, gratuitous gore, or silly AI to laugh at. There's no kind of reward for killing civilians (like there is in Prototype, it's pretty much necessary in that game), there's no XP bonus, nothing. Just a bunch of lives being snuffed out for no reason other than terror and a sense of twisted righteousness.
It's an extremely powerful scene that really shows the plight of the non-combatant in wars and terrorist attacks.
I just want to make one thing clear : I don't think it should be removed or that the game should be banned. The scene is necessary to make you hate [sp]Makarov[/sp] more, and to generally reflect the toll that war takes on normal people.
I almost cried from reading that. :master:
On a less gay note: When you say "lives snuffed out", it's my opinion that, because they're not real lives, it shouldn't really matter. But after an amazing post like that, I must say that I definitely respect your opinion.
I'm sorry, but I happen to like Taco Bell and Fox.
:foxnews: YOU ARE A TERRORIST and A FELON :foxnews:
Huh, reminds me of the time my parents discovered I was playing Counter-Strike with my buddies...
"YOU CAN PLAY AS TERRORISTS?? YOUR GOAL IS TO PLANT A BOMB AND BLOW UP THE PLACE OR KILL THE POLICE WHO TRY TO FREE THE SCIENTISTS/HOSTAGES YOU ABDUCTED?!"
I wonder how they got over it...
maybe it's because I got bored of it and stopped playing
A bunch of us guys in the barracks have been playing MW2 in the day room. The rest of us just sit around playing cards while we wait for somebody in theater to get three kills so we can send in a UAV.
Of course constant exposure to violence in games and movies can trivialize violence in the eyes of children. It's naïve to think otherwise. It's not the responsibility of the developers to censor their content though- it's the responsibility of the customer. If parents don't want their kids to play gory games, then limit their access to them and actually talk to them about what's right and what's wrong.
This is hilariously wrong. Sure not every German in WW2 was a Nazi. However, the Nazis ran the government and military. Fighting in the german military at the time meant you were fighting for the Nazis, whether you wanted to or not. Ergo, Nazi soldier.
Uh, no.
In order to be defined as a member of a party, you have to be a member of said party
Ergo, German Soldiers.
Who is in power makes no difference. American soldiers would not turn into Communist soldiers if a Communist party took over America: they'd still be American.
Fuck Fox News.
I saw Fox, and that's all I need to know and laugh at.
I guess they missed Counter-Strike?
I wonder. Did they actually played the entire game before making this stupid report?
Why blame people for making a good game?
If they don't want kids to play this then blame the parents who buy it for them.
Yes. I agree. Modern Warfare 2 is too realistic.

Did they teach you snowmobile racing skills in basic training or is that more of an advanced course?
