It has a fucking disclaimer saying the game may be offensive and it's rated M, did FOX just fucking skip all that to attack it and take up TV time, yes.
I find that airport scene in MW2 to be pretty offensive. Random killings in a gta style game don't seem quite as bad because they are, well, random. But with this one you pretty much go into an airport and open fire into a crowd of civilians. GTA isn't trying to mimic any particular events, the airport scene pretty much embodies every civilian massacre from the last 30 years of modern events. In the end, I always take some degree of offense in the call of duty games for a few reasons. A) Releasing their games on remembrance day. honestly, what the fuck. Either they are stupid or they actually think their games are a realistic depiction of war. What better way to remember all the dead soldiers, or scarred veterans of our time by plowing through some linear levels blowing hundreds of soldiers to bits with a shotgun. B) The way they always over-dramatize everything, in a pseudo realistic way. You have all these sappy, "patriotic" or overly violent scenes that one way or another results in you single-handedly killing hundreds of enemy soldiers, while at the same time they try to emphasize how bleak war is in some stupid manner. it's fucking retarded. I just know that activision of IW is going to come along and take a big dump on the Vietnam war next. Fuck.
Being plain about things isn't interesting nor is it entertaining.
Being plain about things isn't interesting nor is it entertaining.
Maybe get your kicks for yourself then you shut in. People seem to think this scene is all edgy and cool, it's just offensive outright, it's not even depicted properly. Hell, maybe they should have just put kids in the airport so you can shoot them too. I'm sure that would be fun and entertaining.

People in the West aren't even aware of the thousands of times that people in Eastern Europe have killed each other. If you don't see the problem, then you can't fix it. Shying away from violence doesn't help anyone.

Violence like that should be shown without any verbal or symbolic bias. players should be left to interpret violence for themselves under realistic circumstances. MW is too biased to portray that sort of thing properly.
I still don't see how people can complain about it. They do not have to play it if they don't want to. If someone considers it offensive, then don't play the damn mission. It's easy as that. Of course IW wants to have controversy surrounding their games. That's how they sell. They know very well what they're doing. They give the player an option to not participate in the slaying of innocent video game characters, so there's really no sense in bitching about something that you have every opportunity to avoid.

How's that? I mean, is there was way to actually skip the mission to go to the next one?
Wait, you can avoid it? How's that? I mean, is there was way to actually skip the mission to go to the next one?
The game asks you if you want to skip controversial scenes before you play.
That scene is the only part i played over and over again then I gave it back to gamestop.
Now my fucking parents won't get me the game after they watched this on Fox. FFS
I was kind of surprised by how soon you get to the airport. I thought that there'd be maybe atleast another Makarov mission where you earn his trust undercover.

I wanted to punch the guy against it. That smirk.
I only played bits and pieces of this game, What did Makarov mean by "Remember-No Russian"?
Now my fucking parents won't get me the game after they watched this on Fox. FFS
If you have to ask your parents to get it for you, chances are you're not old enough to buy rated M games anyway.
lol, lets you play as a terrorist. First thing that popped into my mind was CS. Why don't they talk about that? huh? DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY INNOCENT HOSTAGES DIE IN THAT GAME BY YOUR HANDS, EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T MEAN TOO?!! DO YOU?! ROUND AFTER ROUND AFTER ROUND! Poor guys, RIP Kleiner clones. I feel more for them than the civilians in MW2
I sort of wanted to send Fox and e-mail about how concerned I was with Counter-Strike: Source and the ability to play as a terrorist and how it was training my son to become a terrorist... but nay, they will think that I'm kidding. Then again, we do have people in America that are dumb enough to believe this sort of thing. :sigh:
Then again, we do have people in America that are dumb enough to believe this sort of thing. :sigh:
Those people are located in fox news.
games have been letting you play as terrorists since counter strike, and even before.
So tell me, oh master of all things moral and right, how should it be depicted?
I just said in my next post.

I'm too lazy to find it on Youtube for you, so you'll have to do it yourself
games have been letting you play as terrorists since counter strike, and even before.
There was even a game a few years back where the sole objective was to blow people up.. I think it was called Bomberman.
Battlefield 1942 let you play as the Nazis. That's bad, right?
