CAPTCHAs are dead - Google develops new system that just 'knows' whether you're human
How it works: it goes through your search history and site history. Have you ever looked for porn? If so, you're human.
What if it's robot porn?
I hate it when I'm trying to post on 4chan.
You need to solve one for every post you make and it has a lot of problems.
It keeps giving you ones that are impossible to read and there's a bug that keeps refreshing it sometimes every time you input a character so it may refresh 5 times before it stops giving you new ones.
Although moot is probably making a pretty penny off of 4chan passes that remove captchas so he's probably not gonna implement this.
solution: dont post on shitty sites like 4chan
Ha, now I won't have to buy a 4chan pass next year.
rest in peace recaptcha's secondary goal of transferring printed text into electronic
That's a damn shame. Hopefully Google adds a "I want to read text to help OCR stuff" option as a secondary method next to the check box.
Fuck captchas.
There are literally a few obscure sites I was never able to sign up for even though i really wanted to because they were so unreadaable
rest in peace recaptcha's secondary goal of transferring printed text into electronic
Well if bot's can guess it with 99.8% accuracy, they can just do the transferring for us.

Most of the time it was obvious which was the printed text and I would write "poop" in its stead.
So now, somewhere in a scanned and retranscribed textbook you'll have something like:
"[...]King George, who was know at the time poop his great bravery was respected and feared by all[...]."

I once tried to sign up to a Russian forum.
Gave up after about 10 minutes of trying to answer its (Russian language) text question captcha.
Weird, every time I post on 4chan all I get are 3-number captchas. Never had an issue with those.
If you post more, the captchas become harder
I already know how to beat this thing.
record humans answering the captchas, add 20% entropy, done.
i fucking hate those overly complicated captchas
might as well give me a magnifier to examine every pixel
Finally, no more typing words that are upside down and in Greek.
Glad I didn't buy that 4chan shortcut.

The amount of advancement in text-to-speech would be tremendous.
This is so unbelievable it could pass for an april fools joke
this is so great to hear. I had an "incident" with my old yahoo mail account where I needed to get into it but I had to reset the pass. It kept handing me captchas and no matter how precise or spot on I was with the characters it pretty much said it was wrong and I burned through roughly 200 different captchas before eventually giving up. what a cancerous experience
considering yahoo is a direct competitor I probably doubt they would migrate their captcha system to this anyways but still, how awful.

no I mean like human mouse movement
Finally. No more of these types of captchas:

I once got a scanned math equation for a captcha instead of a scanned word. I wasn't going to take the effort to type in sigmas and shit so I refreshed.
So this means no one ever has to type an elephant anymore?
Ironically, computers would be a lot better at that than humans :v:
You guys are fucking with me, CAPTCHAs were never difficult.
i'm sorry. but this is severely creeping me out

half of the time if I could only read one word I'd end up typing something like "finishing COCKBLASTS" anyway :v:
Aren't captchas used to digitize text? I feel like taking the old captchas away would really hurt google books/maps
Aren't captchas used to digitize text? I feel like taking the old captchas away would really hurt google books/maps
They probably just did that so bot developers would advance OCR algorithms enough that you didn't need people to digitize text anymore
