Slam Tilt DRM confirmed for HL3
Konami starts screwing everybody over for Pachinko, now we got Valve doing it with Pinball.
What's next, Nintendo Bowling Alleys?
I know Valve isn't gonna focus on it, but for fucks sake they just keep doing weird things, and I can't understand them.
I was expecting something Peggle related
wow and I hadn't thought about Peggle since like a week after I signed up for Steam

Well, really it's just Valve lending out their franchises to a studio who makes licensed pinball tables. The same studio makes Pinball tables for Marvel, Star Wars, Splosion Man, Plants Vs Zombies, Walking Dead, etc. If you look at how many other pinball tables they make from other franchises, it's not that weird really.
they used to have real pinball machines until they had the massive layoffs (someone might have put new ones in), and one of those people went right to stern pinball.

Nintendo already tried running taxis and love hotels before, so I wouldn't be surprised if they opened bowling alleys.
great, now people will be charging for different sized pinballs smh

!
I'm looking forward to the micro transcations
haha apparently valve does ask physical pinball manufacturers.
What zen studios should probably do is get the source engine 2 and make a game, it would be the first one out most likely.
Imagine if they do an ARG that is obviously based around Half-Life, and it all ends up resulting in a pinball machine announcement. :v:
I find this hardly surprising considering Jeri Ellsworth, a former Valve employee, was a huge pinball lover, and tinkered with pinball machines there.
Haha I get it Zen and Xen and half life haha
Ha
bring forth the metal portal balls
Portal Pinball was created in collaboration between Valve and Zen Studios and will allow players to guide both Chell and Wheatley through several test chambers through the use of portals and aerial faith plates to defeat turrets and GLaDOS in an attempt to escape the facility and reach the surface. ATLAS and P-Body will also be available to offer their Cooperative Testing Initiative Multiball by wreaking havoc on the Turret Factory by discovering Ratman’s hidden mini playfield.
Portal Pinball will be available the week of May 25 for $2.99 on PC, Mac, and consoles and $1.99 on mobile platforms.
Is Valve as we used to know it dead?
Half-Life 2 pinball game where it abruptly ends at certain point and then never continues. You have to reset the machine to play more.

No, but people love to use this phrase when it comes to Valve's latest statuses. Fact is they are developing Source 2, which will be utilized for L4D3, Half Life 3 and any next game they might develop.
People just don't want to accept that it takes long for stuff like a new engine or VR to be developed and thus behave like the company they used to know is dead and doesn't exist anymore.

The flyer boasts Half-Life 2 as the world's first pinball game with an auto-tilt feature. You can adjust it between tilt and slam tilt (which resets the entire machine).

It then proceeds to update and break the flippers for several months
Oh look valve actually started making games

Actually; it's a game made by Zen that licensed Portal through valve. I'm guessing valve sent them some direct access to the portal assets though, as some models look literally identical

False alarm everyone; valve is still a designer hat company
