At least until an Athiest comes in here and proclaims his "religion" of practicing no religion superior to every other religion. .
Not every atheist is like that you can't come in here and say that we're all the same cause that's plain ignorance.
Very interesting, hopefully this can be used to show religions that they are stupid and made up.
I don't think this means that EVERY religious person is missing parts of their brain. IMO, environment probably has the biggest impact.
this is your brain. This is your brain on religion.
qft
Because being spiritual always equates out to being religious. You atheists who think all religious people are dumb are thinking about people who blindly follow organized religion. Meaning they answer to religious authority without thought nor question. I'm not trying to judge atheists in this either. Some of you should look at things from a different perspective though. Also this goes so far as to say something else; psychically simplifying the brain seems to also produce spiritual simplification. Who would've thought? But yeah, go cutting on someone's brain and there will be aftereffects. This just happens to be so.
I'm Christian, that doesn't make me stupid! It's not like I'm some dumbfuck..
Keep telling yourself that
Why is religion stupid and how do you know it is made up? The only people sounding stupid and pompous are the fucking atheists going "lol see religion make u stupid" The only thing dumber then being a crazy religious person is a uptight asshole atheist.
Perhaps Atheists are defensive because a lot of the time religious fanatics were batshit insane and liked to prosecute people for their beliefs.

In this case the atheists just get a little bit of proof. Although a lot of atheists do believe science 100%, which makes it somewhat like a belief system to them.
Not every atheist is like that you can't come in here and say that we're all the same cause that's plain ignorance.
I did not say every Athiest is like that, I simply said that, statistically speaking, there is a high probability that an Athiest like that will post in this thread.
I did not say every Athiest is like that, I simply said that, statistically speaking, there is a high probability that an Athiest like that will post in this thread.
Of course it's a thread about religion. Atheists are drawn to discussions revolving around religion like flies to a light.
I have nothing against people who have different beliefs. I do have things against people who shove their beliefs in other faces, though, and believe that their religion is superior. For example, I don't hate Muslims. I do hate extremists and Christians who say Muslims are idiots, though. And I especially hate Atheists who go around dissing everything and acting like a general dick, too. They give us a bad reputation.
I have nothing against people who have different beliefs. I do have things against people who shove their beliefs in other faces, though, and believe that their religion is the only right one.
As does everyone.
Although a lot of atheists do believe science 100%, which makes it somewhat like a religion.
What the hell. Your trolling right?

It sounds like what they're talking about in the article is a sense of peace and enlightenment. I find that Christians and most members of larger religions lack these feelings. Sounds like part of the Buddhist teaching. Personally I don't view Buddhism as a religion because Siddhartha Gautama told his followers to never worship him. He instead told them to observe the Four Noble Truths and seek the Eight-Fold Path to Enlightenment. Sounds like a teaching to me. Coincidentally it is Christians who seem to be the target of most of the more judgmental atheist hate. No surprise since they make up what, 60% of the world's population? Perhaps there is literal truth to be found in the Bible, did not Jesus tell his followers they would be persecuted and made fools of? It seems most of lost touch with the original teachings of the New Testament though.
What the hell. Your trolling right?
Considering how science works sometimes it's wrong, if you believe everything by heart you're just as bad as them. It's a religion to them, not to the rest of us.
Considering how science works sometimes it's wrong, if you believe everything by heart you're just as bad as them. It's a religion to them, not to the rest of us.
Again. Your trolling right?
Again. Your trolling right?
No what the fuck is your problem though? Are you just stupid?
I wish i was a jew :(
Perhaps there is literal truth to be found in the Bible, did not Jesus tell his followers they would be persecuted and made fools of? It seems most of lost touch with the original teachings of the New Testament though.
Didn't Jesus also say not to hate your enemy and to be respectful to everyone? Too bad a lot of people do not follow that teaching. Not to mention I don't like people who say that all Atheists are stuck up dicks. We are not. We just simply believe in having no faith and using reason instead. Saying that there is no way that anything in Christianity can exist when it is not proven is faith, and therefore you are just as bad.
I watched this thing on TV once where they were talking about a car accident survivor who suddenly burst out of his house and ran down the street screaming "I AM GOD!", and then he was examined and they found that that parts of his brain were damaged and the parts of the brain linked to religious beliefs were unusually active. But he wasn't accepting any existing religion, it was something that his own mind came up with all of the sudden.
can you prove he doesn't exist?
Don't have to, it's their job to prove he does.
Why can't you just let people believe what they want to believe? The idea that the universe exists alone and came from nothing is almost as incomprehensible as the idea of a God. No one knows what the real deal with life is, so let people believe what they want, because I can guarantee none of us are right.
Didn't Jesus also say not to hate your enemy and to be respectful to everyone? Too bad a lot of people do not follow that teaching.
Turn the other cheek and forgive, yes. What we know may not be historically correct however. There was debate over what writings to omit from the Holy Bible at the time of its formal publication, which correct me if I'm wrong, was at the time of the late Roman Empire. There was a lot of turmoil and a lack of unity during those final years, no telling what truth was left out and forgotten in time.
No what the fuck is your problem though? Are you just stupid?
No, are you? Do you have any idea as to how science progresses? Science: The continual advancement on the successes and learning from the failures of our forefathers. It is derived from evidence. Religion: Do what this book says and don't question it. It is derived from faith.
Buddhism is way more of a philosophy on life than an actual religion.
I agree, I said a teaching, but philosophy also seems to fit in there.
